Sally, our main character finds herself in quite a mess dealing with the sudden death of her husband and dealing with repressed childhood memories. Some of the memories may have been triggered by her daughter's reconnection with her biological father, against Sally's wishes. The storyline goes back and forth quickly with several well-written sessions between Sally and Ruth, her therapist. "Forgotten Dark" is a surprising psychological thriller that I would like to write more about, but I don't want to write a spoiler to the book because it's worth the read. I will say that the ending is quite a shock. I never saw it coming! Not saying that I agree with the therapist, but this is fiction, and an author has free license. Louise Worthington has written a well composed, entertaining book that will most definitely astonish you in the end with an unsuspected conclusion. I definitely recommend "Forgotten Dark."

A very well written story that initially seemed to be some kind of woman on woman encounter, but turned out to be a surprise villain… Not Caroline… Time!
Reminds me of the many times I visited my elderly relatives and they were so happy to see me until they were either drugged or demented and didn't recognize me anymore. Yes, time is a thief.

You leave one with a lot of thought. I, too, have contemplated the value of ending a letter with "Yours." Do we really mean it. Have we ever meant it? I found this story not only informative but very clever.
It is amazing how many things we pick up without thinking and continue to do it without really understanding what we are doing. The one thing that I did learn from tenth grade typing that did engage my mind was the use of "Ladies and Gentlemen" to open a letter rather than, Sir, Sirs, Master, Hey There, Hi, or other too informal or totally incorrect or obsolete wording.

A wonderful romp through the houses of birds, meant to be rebuilt with love every year. Seeming so fragile, yet often very strong and still gentle for hatchlings when they arrive from their safe egg into the light of day and dark of night.
If only we humans could build such houses…

PS. Our birds in our suburban backyard are off their feed at our bird feeder because they are being harassed by city dwelling hawks.

I know that you tend the garden well when you refer to your flowers as, "my children."
My partner is busy in our garden with all kinds of planting and tending. We will have another fabulous bee and butterfly, fresh vegetable, colorful summer.
