I grew up reading Ann Landers. Was surprised when I found out she had a twin sister in the business. I'm a twin. So glad you're in the business. I love humor and you really know how to sling it. I'm much more into satire, so like Jonathan Swift, I'm often misinterpreted.
Never read a self-help book. But I fell in love with programmed books that taught me things like PERT, allowing me to get through my doctorate in two and a half years. Perhaps I should've written self-help books for all those out there with inferiority complexes.
I appeared successful at my twentieth reunion. A recently divorced classmate fell in love with me. She fell out of love with me three years later even though we agreed on the temperature on the thermostat. But I have had at least three helpers that told me I set it too hot and they left. They were all too fat anyway. ;-)
You may not believe this, but I actually borrowed my neighbor's lawnmower for an entire summer and mowed a half-acre lawn with it. At least once a week the grass grew so fast. The next summer, I asked him to borrow it, and he said, "Get your own." I followed his advice, and started mowing another neighbor's quarter acre lawn 50-50. He was 93 years old. I agreed to mow the lawn as long as he paid for the gas. Two dollars worth of gas mowed both of our lawns, twice, I seem to remember.
