Antithesis: Lost Loved Found (Poetry) - 10/21/2008 6:09:28 AM
I like this line alot, "nothing overhead
an untruth that makes a feeling
truth stifled by a ceiling." Reminds me of how we break up with someone and be acting all rebellious like we don't give a damn about them anymore but in reality we're still digging them because that feeling keeps digging in us. I think the title is perfect because love always finds its way back to you even when you've think you've misplaced it with your keys. Nice Write Sista!
New Body (Parts) (Poetry) - 10/20/2008 11:48:02 PM
I don't quite understand point of this one. Do you mean that you are a person with a lot of flaws, but now you are using this to enter into the light to make yourself feel better?

The Traveler (for Tiffany Liu on her Birthday) (Poetry) - 10/20/2008 11:37:48 PM
Hi Xian Hon:
Very nice of you to write a poem for your cousin's birthday. This is wonderful tribute!
One thing though...how can a snowy heart warms all like her skin? I don't understand this part.
A snowy heart is supposed to be cold, so how can it warm anything?
And to warm it like her skin is not a good comparison, which makes her skin seems as cold as the snowy heart.
Well...this is just my opinion. Thought I'd like to let you know.
Thank you for sharing your work with us!

Ah, the games people play, Xian. Plastic man was a put down in the Sxities. The Kinks even wrote a song about a plastic man. Cheesy would be another good term for this seemingly polite character in the poem. As Robert Burns wrote: Would some power the gift to give us/to see ourselves as others see us. Enjoyed! kenny

This prose reads like the opening page of a novel, written in the first person, many rapid fire thoughts
leaving the reader to make assumptons. Some reason reminds me of waitng for godott..

this is very differrent and i loved your
word play, really interesting
Recycled (Poetry) - 1/30/2005 9:03:22 AM
I found this piece hard to follow from the lack of punctuation and the overall choppiness, forcing me to stop and re-read several lines. I like where your going with this but think it needs some fine tuning.

Pauses (Poetry) - 5/21/2004 9:56:30 AM
Yeah sure feels that way sometimes...like "some guys have all the luck"...the rest of us get the pits in the bottom of the bowl. Well, maybe yes...maybe no...maybe it all depends on one's perspective. Loved the flow of this piece...your rhyme works very well. Good stuff!

Hi Amelia~I agree. Not all pauses are follied. I think retrospective pauses are good but not fearful ones...there should be no fear in love.
Pauses (Poetry) - 5/17/2004 5:02:58 PM
There are many good possibilities to pauses, like sighs, or ahs, or renewal.
Atlas Shrugged (Poetry) - 5/17/2004 10:36:33 AM
Bill~ Thank you for sharing. Though my allsuion to heroin was figurative, I appreciate the support. Do no worry about tears, this was former romantic frustration from over a year ago. I have grown much since then. I commmend you for the courage to fight heroin and alcohol out of your life. Take care and keep in touch!
Atlas Shrugged (Poetry) - 5/17/2004 2:32:15 AM
Xian, you write with a pen dripping tears. I do understnd how one feels under the control of heroin after the thrill is gone. As an alcoholic, I didn't start to live until I finally stopped drinking. Now I am on the tailend of a wrecked life, and can only try to salvage a little of what my life should have been. Good luck and God bless you. Miracles do happen, but we have to believe in them.
