I'm glad the over the counter meds are working for you. It is hard to find something that works. Some of us can't take Glucosamine/Condroitin or NSAIDS because of side effects worse than the pain of inflammation. Sadly, MSM didn't help either. I manage my pain with Tylenol Arthritis. There is nothing more depressing than fighting constant pain. I'm happy for you that you've found a combination of things that works for you. It is hard for those who love someone to witness them in constant pain, knowing there is little we can do to help their pain short of putting them on a moist heating pad and then massaging their painful back. May you continue to find relief from your pain, and may you never experience such damaging abuse again!

It appears that you're making some kind of a comment here rather than a story, but I'd like to respond to what you've written.
I think that making certain substances illegal is a great cause of pain. While we should control the use of some substances, I don't think anyone should legislate an individual's behavior. Education and demonstration are much more powerful than regulation. If someone wants to abuse drugs, I find that okay except when they start to affect others, then it's not.
Marijuana is one of those solutions when baclofen, that I've been on for 25 years to reduce spasms, no longer works. Some of my spasms now are very violent and stressful for my joints, but I don't have any kind of pain that would warrant taking marijuana.
My biggest concern is those recreational users who claim that they need marijuana for medicinal purposes when they don't. It's just a lie… An excuse… To get their way. As far as I'm concerned, I see no value in any pill or drug and only take what my doctor requires. I have no need to escape reality.

I had a little trouble understanding this, but I believe you received a gunshot wound to the head six years ago that gave you brain damage that you are recovering from. And, you may also have been the victim of systematic sexual child abuse.

Most fiction is grounded in truth or at least believability. This plot lacks a quality to make it memorable. It would satisfy viewers needs with a twist of redemption, or love conquers all, or a happy, hopeful ending--perhaps all three. That's my take.

I am physically unattractive, old, and unemployed so I couldn't pay a good looking woman to go to bed with me and I wouldn't get turned by an ugly one. Everything you said is spot on. I am better off without sex although I didn't get in this situation through some great strength but rather DESPERATION!

Acute hearing can do that to you. Your poem is a story as well as a song. With a happy ending.
When I worked in a mobile home factory, we cranked out mobile homes on the main assembly line and then put them out on the field for finish work that was missed in the haste to move each home down the line. After two years on the line in a building filled with cats keeping the mice and rats at bay, I worked out in the finish area.
Some homes waited two or three days before we finish crews got to them. More than once during the summer that I worked, we could hear a cat meowing in the walls. Overnight, cats would get in the unfinished homes on the line and go to sleep. They would get "built in." The next day and then go out into the yard in the heat of the summer sun until finishing.
I seem to recall the "rescued" some very worried cats that summer, mostly from the rafters where there was room for them to find a nice comfy place to sleep.
