That was a prime time to be in The City. There was a lot of dreaming, social bending, and cultish behavior that young people were drawn to. I had California dreams, too. Of a different kind, when I entered Stanford for a master's degree in industrial engineering. While I loved the music and the freedom of expression, I was so square I never tried marijuana and didn't even drink beer, favoring mixed drinks.
You've tempted me to buy your book and read it, especially because of your encounters with famous people of the era. But I've already promised too many authors and I'm not reading very much these days, maybe later. So I will pass for now.
I am writing a book about my adventures over the decades of the 40s to the 70s and posting them as chapters here on AD. You may wish to read some of them when I was in the Bay Area.
