You are right in the opening statement Ronald. "Since nowhere is the true feeling of winter in Africa except in the high mountains like Kilimanjaro and the Atlas Mountains in the north,"
"...to my knowledge, I believe you are writing in metaphor." Since I'm a realist myself, I've been living in Europe for more than ten years, therefore I'm talking from experience; rather than from mere imagination.

Winter here represents the lowest point in existence, where one must struggle to keep ahead of the cold and move forward into the sun and light. I really like the last two lines because logic and reason is much more powerful to solving problems that a motion.

An interesting poem with some sound advice in this world of frivolity. I especially like your image of "a tree trapped in a seed." Brilliant. Also, knocking down the winter in us well serves your point. Excellent work.

A fine take on love, beautifully executed. Well done.

Yes, love comes in so many forms that its strangeness is very real. Some very nice verses with beautiful definitions of love.

I will never think of love in quite the same way as I did before
reading your poem. You have shown us that calm waters do indeed run deep.
My Own Choice – Free Will (Poetry) - 1/23/2021 9:17:48 AM
Some would probably consider it a God relationship, but I am not religious and agree with you that there comes a time, usually in the late teenage years, when the father must give up absolute control and allow the son prosper (or perish) on his own. Unfortunately, some fathers do not seem to know this. And mothers are much worse. ;-)
