I don't suffer from PTSD any more, I've since help other veterans in their life struggles, my son father was a supervisor who drugged and raped me, he did his time in jail and was later found in a hotel in Vegas years later dead. I did get married, but he wasn't the one,he was hateful, mean, and started becoming violent. SO, I divorced him and moved on with my life. My son is an awesome young man, he is an ordained deacon and he has an outreach ministry, helping the homeless. All that I have been through in my life, has taught me to trust in God and I am hoping to one day have all of my writings online for others to read and be inspired to realize that even when life hits you hard, turn it around and push through and rise above it. Don't allow your problems to become who you are.

This segment of your story allows the reader a glimpse behind Lisa's reason to enlist in the armed forces. It shows her strength and resolve to rise above her circumstances on behalf of her son. You've written a moving story that doesn't sugarcoat things.

We'll never know just how many of our returning soldiers suffer from PTSD from taking the ravages of war home with them. Your realistic story brings it to light. It's even much harder for a single mom to cope.

A very realistic story. With so many young women entering the military service these days, this kind of PTSD is surfacing more often when young mothers come home from battle. I noticed that Colbie's father is nowhere in the picture. Not only does his mother have PTSD, she has full responsibility parenting their son. Something that is very stressful and unnecessary.
That's why I'm not patriotic when comes the eagerness to go to war with other countries over presumed fear that they will hurt us. The men that order these wars rarely see combat and what it does to young people, often just needing work and discipline, who have to make decisions of life and death in a split second, making mistakes that haunt them the rest of their lives.
Regardless of treatment and prayer, Cobie's mother will probably suffer from PTSD for the rest of her life.

I see no problem in allowing women to operate and gain rank in any part of the military. But I will agree that as far as physical abilities go, there are differences. It has been proven that women have more endurance and act more calmly in severe conditions. Women are much less likely to get angry and do the wrong thing. And, women tend to act intelligently rather than emotionally.
I watching a rash of new television series based on military units who operate outside the ordinary avenues of war. In almost every case, there is a token woman in a combat role. And often the superiors are women. It is a valiant attempt to lead the progress and equality for women in the military. And, it may be working.

Christmas time is a time when all should get along and forgive each other. But many don't and still hold a grudge. I know in the apt house I live in many do not even have many family members to make it merry therefore not into Christmas season much. It surely is depressing cause Jesus was born for Christmas and that is the reason for the season. Oh that many would make up this holiday season what a wonderful things Jesus would be very happy about that.
