I love historical fiction, especially aboutperiods like reconstruction that are not covered as well by history book as the Civil War is. And, if it is part of your family history, a very good way to delve into the way things were at that time in this country's development.
Unfortunately, as I read the excerpt, it was not of the book itself but a blurb describing the book and its contents. In order for me to comment on your writing, I need an actual section of the book itself.
