That is very important and it's hard to find a person who is as brutally honest as everyone should be. I am intrigued to see what else you have to say...might look into this book...see the world in a new way?

Wow, you seam to be the only man, other than Howard stern that I don't like this much, yet deeply admire. Nothing personal on the not liking you part your just a little too megalomaniacal for my tastes, and I tend to disagree with the premise that the world is completely shit I happen to believe there is great hope for us to be better, be more then we are one day.
However; I must say that I respect your passion for your own truth and the extent you go to in pursuing it, even if I do disagree. I really hope you do well and just because I don’t like you and disagree with you, doesn’t mean that I don’t want to work with you at some point on the slavery, genocide, and political prisoners’ story. It is an important story for me and one that must be gotten out there for the sake of public knowledge.

Good theme, and inventive way of saying things. This reminds me much of some of the age-old advice of Dale Carnegie, and of the different views Eastern and Western philosophy have on silence. The European tradition is one of saying everything to let those around you see how much you know, while the Asiatic tradition states that those who truly know say nothing. I'd recommend the chapter on Maggie Simpson in "The Simpsons and Philosophy" for a good, lighthearted read on this subject.

lol I had illegal aliens living in my garage when I lived in Santa Cruz California, they just showed up and took over the Garage, I had a hell of a time making them leave, because apparently the padlock on the door was just something they could cut and get into the garage anyway....there was an older man, a young girl of 18, an older woman, and Nacho, who told me he just needed a job...after fighting with them to leave, they said they would only use the garage when it rained, little did I know then that it rains for 6 months straight in California....I finally moved from there, and I think that they are probably still living in that garage today, 24 years later....

I can relate with a few of your misfortunes and it is sickening! It IS sickening how our own citizens and veterans are treated. A U.S.child who is taught the Pledge of Allegiance and the National Anthem runs around hungry in tattered clothes while an illegal is getting fat and getting treated to various "hope chests" for free clothing (and I mean designer stuff), and has great health coverage. BACKWARDS AND WRONG!!!!! I used to do free babysitting for mothers, friends of mine, so they could "get on their feet". These mothers became great friends and still bring me pies, cakes, and home sewn articles............so kind!!!! I always enjoy your articles because they MAKE SENSE!!!

My Mom was killed by a hit run driver when she crossed the road after work. He hit her...dragged her 75 ft. and kept going. She was only 39 years old and left 8 kids behind, me the oldest. I had alot of responsibility helping raise the kids and doing the cooking and cleaning. I'll never understand why anyone would do that? Its been many years ago but its still fresh in my mind. With no serious threats on the horizon since the 1970s or so, we've had a largely mercenary (paid) military and not a voluntary (drafted) military, so it is easy for younger people who don't pay much attention to history to forget service of those, like you, who served so long ago.
The threat today is not a major Army or Navy approaching our shores or enemy planes flying over head. It is of small cell or even individual terrorism that makes every event seem like a small Pearl Harbor. In spite of what some politicians are saying, we do not have a weak military. Our military budget is huge and our military technology surpasses all others. We are capable of taking out any major threat anywhere in the world with dispatch. Mostly without troops on the ground or in harm's way.
But there are two problems: first we do not honor and pay our mercenary soldiers enough out of this huge budget that mostly goes for equipment, technology, and corporate profit from overcharging. Our soldiers have to be trained to be neurosurgeons, but they are paid like migrant workers. When they finished their service, they are learned skills are not honored by private enterprise.
Second, we do not take care of our veterans very well. Politicians are in favor of cutting back benefits to mentally and physically care for those damaged during their service in combat. That needs to change, so that no veteran should ever worry about making ends meet, or worse, end up in jail or in the street.

Excellent! Will we ever be able to turn this ship around? Evil begets evil and "gifts" only allow more disease to enter this country. I know if one of my kids or grandkids ever got ebola, I'd find the carrier and put him/her out of his/her misery.
