The premise of "inherited" memories from our ancestors is absolutely fascinating. The mere mention of the novel's character willing to risk her professional reputation as a psychiatrist, to carry out an illegal experiment would be sufficient for the reader to pick up this book and feverishly start flipping pages.

Mr. Phillips, I can't give you medical advice, so I'll just give you my opinion of what I have read. It seems like you're experiencing residual effects of the bout of a mild case of shingles you had in your ear canal, because of your symptoms of damage you occasionally experience, such as tinnitus, hearing loss, and flare-ups of otitis media. If you would have had a severe to moderate case in your ear canal then you would have had my symptoms. Ask your main MD if you are a candidate for Shingrix, the shingles vaccine. I have read that it may lessen the shingles's residual effects too, besides significantly preventing you from another outbreak of shingles whether it be in your ear canal again or another part of your body. If you have already received the vaccine then avoid high stress, eat a proper diet and ask your doctor for valium when you experience vertigo. Remember if you do receive a prescription of valium is addictive so manage with care and don't operate machinery while on it.

Thanks for this very informative article. I also have shingles with its rash lingering behind my left ear for 10 years now. Vertigo attacks occur irregularly also mainly from my left ear (along with tinnitus, hearing loss, and flare-ups of otitis media). Meclizine did nothing for me, although lots of balance exercises helped a little. My main MD said the shingle rash will not enter my ear canal. Now I know that he was wrong. My ENT guy talks a great game, but he does nothing. Right now, I'm stumped.
