I love the way you open your story, but the minor errors threw me off a bit. I am an identical twin. I have younger brothers, 16 years younger, who are fraternal (two different eggs, fertilized during the same menstrual period, in this case, maybe from the same sperm release). All four of us at any given age, appear to be quadruplets by the way we look. Our DNA may be very similar, too.
However, as soon as you brought in the gods of your own making into a story that you described as "timeless," but I found to be plotless except for some seemingly redeeming grace at the end. However, will read critics may find your story captivating. My mind is too meager to understand its significance.

Even as you write of the eternal hope that fills your being, there is this earthly hope; His grace that brings us though the darkest trials renewed and peaceful, reminded by His comfort that He is indeed with us through it all. I am intrigued by "And it is into the deep love of the divine that I now dive." In Ephesians, His love is described as long, wide, high and deep. I pondered the meaning of deep, and soon made a connection--that His love is like a pool of water, and I dive into the depths with freedom and grace. It surrounds me as I revel in it.
This is a good poem, and one can only be stirred by the many trials you have endured and the conclusion of your faith. Beautiful.

When we search for comfort in our lives we often times reflect agaisnt the wind but as we stand fast to our convictions we are brought into the light of reason that reminds us all of what you are saying here... great piece..

"Scratched" is a beautiful piece, Richard, that caused me to recall a storm-fractured stained glass window in a particular House of Worship.
Everyone had their own idea of what should be done. But eventually, all the saints gathered as one, set aside their personal differences, and in one accord, worked together until the colors were all pefectly restored. The window was again breathtaking.. and it bore the Image of the One who had restored THEM!

YES...IT IS AFTER THE 'STORMS' THAT ONE CAN SEE CLEARER...AFTER THE WATERS REVEALS SO MUCH...NOTHING IS LEFT 'HIDDEN'.
