I have a thing for names, yes.
When I say "beginning or end credits", I mean I am looking at the creators of the movie or television series. There are some interesting names to be found there.
I do sometimes hear references to Pearl.

You seem to have a fixation with names. I don't. I pick names at random and find that common names are better than names that may refer to celebrities or affect the character of the character in any way. I do recall that Ian Fleming had a way with names, particularly throwaway women that was in some ways, I bit insulting. I think with extreme characterization and satires, these kinds of names can be useful. But if you want your characters to be remember, a unique name may be the way that can happen. And, Google searches will find them much easier.
By the way, I'm sure you get some inquiries with your name being associated with Pearl Buck.
