My husband, purchased this book for me. Knowing how I am enthralled with reading -- he read the prologue and thought it was worth the read. I finished it in a week. I can not believe how one man could put his family through what he did. You made me the reader feel what Marguerite was going through. My prayers for you.

Well where should i start .Well first and formost this story of how things like this really happen in real life is awful but reading this book i have learnt my life was not bad at all actually it was great.And i certainly am glad you have opened up and told us your story cause i believe people who read this will bennifit and maybe learn from it and it might change there lives if anything like this is going on in there lives .Abuse ,mentally And physically abuse are awful and can scare us for the rest of our lives and we as humans are scared but we try and try to stand up for ourselves and our families whom we love and will protect no matter what even if it hurts us.So with this i say anyone who has not read this book please do so it is an amazing story of a beautiful woman who put up with alot and she tried and tried and always got hurt in the end of it but one thing is she always put her children first and all i can say is buy this book it should be a best seller .Winnie

Sadly this is the all too true sceanario of so many innocents, just looking for love, marriage, children etc.
Then there is the telling from the little ones as they grow older...
Cruelty in all it's forms, leaves a trail of destruction, that is often too much for some to even talk about, let alone Pen.
I too would like to read your book, and hope you find a good publisher.

This is a sad but gratefully happy ending story with a most valuable lesson. Your mother like my own, both being from Newfoundland and all, probably used to tell you the same thing that we would hear...put on clean underwear in case you get in accident and have to go to hospital. The underwear you forgot to change in this case was the ones that had the name of your loved ones attached. Valuable life lesson and wonderful story cuz.

My dear Selena, I so understand every single word of your poem. My daughter has suffered with depression for the past 20 years, and its been a very difficult road for us. The August edition features an article and a poem about my grandfather, Denis Croke, who rowed with the Outer Cove crew in 1901 and set the record 9:13 that took 80 years to beat. This has filled my eyes with tears for I do believe I know this once little girl and believe me she is crying all the time, for she isn't who she wants to be and she is screaming for someone anyone to help her. This touches the heart deeply. I wish there was just one thing I could do to reach out to her, she has been loved in so many wrong ways by so many wrong people for so many wrong reasons.

i half agree...
i did some travelling last year and i found that i saw people i knew in the faces of people i didnt know.
in ethiopia this woman reminded me of a good friend even though this woman was black and my friend is impossibly white.
but yes... there are places and moments that are so familiar while being in completely foreign cities. its most wonderful.
and with email and cellfones no one is very far away anymore... even in ethiopia...
theres no place like home...
