Meeting Angel (Short Story) - 12/21/2006 10:33:14 AM
Well this story stumped me. On one hand it negates all my ideas of what angels are, on the other I found it well constructed and interesting, vivid with pictures and images. So I'll allow poetic licence as to what angels are, and say, an excellent story. Victor

Sorry you feel this way. I do sometimes too and must get myself positive when I feel this way. We are all here for a purpose til God calls us home. Get your thoughts in better order if you can and then post us an encouraging message to read if you will.

Dying to Live (Poetry) - 8/27/2007 12:49:26 AM
Man must struggle against his destiny, but for those who believe, they can find consolation for "my yoke is easy and my burden light". Victor PS Sorry I read this so late. But I was not informed by AD about your poem.
Dying to Live (Poetry) - 8/5/2007 12:45:53 PM
I hope that this is a work of imagination JL, because if it isn't, and you are writing about your own struggles, all I can say is that my heart goes out to you. I've been there and experienced what you speak of here, and the memory of those struggles leaves me debilitated. Blessings ...
Richard
Dying to Live (Poetry) - 8/5/2007 10:38:24 AM
J.L. written in simplicity but provoking and profound. Life is hard to handle but I would image it's even harder if the one we share it with is not connected to us and it's strangling us from no feelings or love and you want out because you want to escape. Sad but I do think it's an exceptional write.
Summer Comes (Poetry) - 7/29/2007 5:36:38 PM
You wrote it so well I could SMELL it. Nice work!
Summer Comes (Poetry) - 6/14/2007 10:21:39 AM
J.L., I was living every line in this poem, the images, sounds, and your voice were great!
Summer Comes (Poetry) - 6/14/2007 8:37:32 AM
Yes I can JL ... but for us it's bluejays, scrubjays, falcons, and mocking birds that are heralding summer where we live. A fine write! Blessings ...

J.L., what a wonderful tribute to your wonderful wife. Isn't it a great feeling to look in the face of the one you've loved all those years and still get gooseflesh as you kiss her lips. It makes me so happy to read about a happy couple...I've been truly blessed to so I know exactly how you feel. Live each day to the fullest and be thankful you captured a true love.

Grandma's Kitchen (Poetry) - 3/24/2007 6:55:22 PM
What a lovely way of remembering your grandmother. I wish everyone could find a way to express that special feeling.
Now I'm a grandma, and loving it. I think your poem is special and comes straight from your heart and memories. The way it should with all poems. Poems to me are nothing more than a way to express what we have loved, do love and will love.
Great going here.

Beautiful Jeff.

A great piece!
Knock At The Door (Revised) (Poetry) - 1/26/2007 1:37:54 PM
I like what you did with the flow and the form. Death will only come when you wish it WOULDN'T. lol And you don't HAVE to open the door to those other guys.

Knock At The Door (Revised) (Poetry) - 1/26/2007 10:16:43 AM
J.L., death is held in the hands of one man only and it won't come until it's your time. Now, to reply about this poem, the flow is good and each line has much meaning. A lot of time, us readers, read something into a piece that may only be figments of the writers words.
Knock At The Door (Revised) (Poetry) - 1/26/2007 10:10:07 AM
Death will come in its own time and very often it will take you unawares. Victor

Know Me (Poetry) - 1/11/2007 2:56:39 PM
J.L., this is interesting! No one ever knows what's in the mind of another and no one knows the sadness, pain and tribulations another has had to endure; therefore, each does have his/her own song to sing. "One side has dark and smoldering eyes, they lock on conquest and conquer on domain." This says a lot! I like this deep thinker!
Not Being Able To Write (Poetry) - 1/9/2007 3:45:29 PM
J.L., Yes, I think all writers feel a need to release something that is choking us to death. Write and release it...once it is said, "All will be well inside." Fears can rob us of our will to get out the words that hold us captive. It could be something the world is waiting to hear...don't hold back, your words might help another person.
Not Being Able To Write (Poetry) - 1/9/2007 2:13:05 PM

Beyond the Veil (Poetry) - 12/29/2006 8:43:22 AM
J.L., what a touching prose poem...the evils that often touch so many people's minds can only be echoed through words but never the true reality of what the person is actually feeling inside can be felt but by the person suffering it. No, no, no one knows the torture another lives with every day. I truly hope peace will come!
Words Fail Me Now (Poetry) - 12/29/2006 8:33:31 AM

Epiphany is a divine revelation. Your revelation was quite harsh. A poem to ponder on. Victor
Epiphany (Poetry) - 12/28/2006 1:53:34 PM
J.L., this left me in awe and left me thinking! Sometimes we don't see the image of ourselves unless we get a good reflection. This is a great reason for all of us to take a good look at ourselves and ask the question...why "we" (he/she) can't seem to loose yourself in me? I liked this!
Epiphany (Poetry) - 12/28/2006 12:02:10 PM
Such self-reflections and admissions; smooth as gentle waves leading to a crescendo. Well done, J.L.
Micke
Epiphany (Poetry) - 12/28/2006 11:45:09 AM
Jeff ...
This is fine flowing thought process. Although the revelation was instantaneous, there are still so many "bits and pieces" that make up the whole of it. You captured them well.
A lot of your poetry has an underlying theme of self awareness, and also, confronting self with an element of abhorrence and dissatisfaction attached. I like this - it's real, and everyone deals with it from time to time.
I wrote a poem along these same lines entitled CRACKED MIRRORS.

Reflecting on Mary (Poetry) - 12/28/2006 4:30:45 AM
Our Lady did not know the fetails of future events, but she was told by Simeon that a sword would pierce her heart. Thanksgiving Recipe (Poetry) - 12/24/2006 3:31:41 PM
This sounds like the best way to spend Thanksgiving, though I don't allow myself to overeat anymore. Not for reasons of any diet, but because I just don't like to feel that uncomfortable. Admittedly, I take a second plate of everything home with me and enjoy it later or the next day. There is just nothing like the holidays, family and wonderful food. This was an excellent and entertaining offering, thank you.

The Solitude of Lonliness (Alone, revised) (Poetry) - 12/20/2006 12:03:33 PM
Very interesting approach Jeff - loneliness as the protagonist looking out at the desolation that surrounds him. This is potently written and threaded with complimentary imagery to the overall message.
