I'm afraid the only thing Oprah Winfrey ever truely seeks to improve or enhance is her image. She is a fraud. The only time she does these "good works" is when the cameras are rolling. This 40m school in South Africa??? 40 million was cheap for the publicity she received over it. Funny thing is, the American Press never covered the true story behind that school. Oprah professed to build a school for the disadvantaged, poverty stricken children of South Africa. The children in her school were hand picked from the best private schools in Johannesburg, and had to be in the top 2 percent of their class to qualify to get in to Oprahs school. You see, Oprah didn't want any of those dirty, illiterate children, she needed students who would achieve high marks and shine for the cameras so she could show the world what a wonderful thing Oprah did! The other thing America never heard about...
This was a boarding school, but the parents weren't told that once the child arrived, the parents were never allowed access to them again. NEVER. No visits, no phone calls, no letters or emails. You see, Oprah knows best, and these savages needed to be "weened" from their families and indoctrined into all that is Mother Oprah. The woman who Oprah hired to run this school and care for these children??... was later arrested for physical and sexual abuse against these kids on a monumental scale. I know these things because I lived in Johannesburg at the time. It's amazing what the American Press chooses and chooses not to cover when it comes to news. I guess they have the same mentality that Winfrey does... "If it doesn't effect or benefit me, then who the hell cares about it."

I'm not condoning, in any way, what Don Imus said yet one cannot deny that if he were a black person, his comments would've been considered "acceptable" and there would be no uproar or need for apology. Personally, I think the comments were disgusting, regardless of race. Likewise, I am insulted when someone calls me a "cracker" or promotes slogans like "white men can't jump" or "white men can't dance", etc. Things will only change when it becomes unacceptable for one black man to refer to another black man as "nigger". If we don't respect ourselves, how can we expect others to show us respect? Just my humble, non-racist opinion.
