It's not often that one finds a novel as explicit and as full of unexpected surprises as Confidential Bounty, a book by Michael Altieri. This ambitious work of Mr. Altieri’s is based on a murder in Connecticut and the investigating former homicide detective turned P.I. on this case.
The story centers on Brenda Corrino investigating the murder of Gary Stvan asked by a Friend Maria meet her at Yale New Haven Hospital. As the story begins we get a description of our main character Brenda as a sexy woman rather than an investigator. As I go on reading I find that investigating and the courtroom drama are not the main plot here for Brenda and her ex -boyfriend Darren who joins her on this case. Our characters here are more interested in intimate interludes then the investigation and the courtroom case. There is a plot here if you can extract it from the characters having sexual encounters even threesomes. I’m not condemning sex as it is reality and our society expects it in novels. This book should have been released as a prelude to Sodom and Gomorrah. Turn to any page and you will find overtones of lurid sex intoxication.
Confidential Bounty is very well written and the theme as I perceive it is more for the adult audience interested in provocative interludes. The book is well worth reading but keep an open mind on the content as it may be disturbing to some readers.

This is a well crafted story and I absolutely enjoyed reading it from start to finish. It’s a captivating and gripping read that had me engrossed from the beginning. The story flows from scene to scene with ease, and the author shows exceptional ability when it comes to storytelling. There’s a profusion of well illustrated scenes that really make you feel like you are right there in the story, and that's something I really look for in a good book.
The story had every element a good story should have. An exciting plot, attention to detail, but best of all fleshed out, well-written and well-rounded character development. This interesting and compelling work, as I said, had my attention from the start and there are twists and turns in this page turner that will take the reader on an intriguing and thrilling journey! Also, the writing style is uncomplicated which makes for an enjoyable read.
It’s one of those stories that come along once in awhile that makes you want to read it non-stop until you get to the end. I’m giving nothing further away here. And this, I hope, will only add to the mystery and enjoyment for the reader! I’d highly recommend this read to all fans of the mystery/thriller/suspense genre.
I’ll certainly be looking forward to reading more from Michael Altieri in the future!

The reclusive life of former homicide detective Brenda Corrino has suddenly leaped from post-traumatic stress recovery to something much more interesting. Murder!
In Michael Altieri’s debut novel, Dogwood Season, Brenda was raped and nearly murdered while working undercover to capture a serial killer. The trial for that psycho is scheduled to begin soon and the thought of testifying is hampering her recovery. To make matters worse she cut off all communication with everyone that matters.
Brenda is compelled to engage her former boyfriend Medical Examiner Darren Crowe to help her get through the trial and venture into an investigation of another serial killer. Darren is elated to work closely with Brenda again. They had an intimate relationship before her undercover disaster left her physically and mentally broken.
Mr. Altieri has provided another very good quick read. His style of short chapters encourages the reader to keep turning the pages. His combination of suspense and romantic tension grip the reader leaving you hungering for more. I highly recommend Confidential Bounty.
