Your true love is very Egyptian. From what I've read of the dynasties, there was much intrigue and murderous intention. While stories of Cleopatra and Nefertiti seem to be very romantic, they probably are more about lust for power.
Having been there at sunset, the dusty desert and great monuments can have a very romantic air about them. And, for a pharaoh to dedicate a great monument to his love is a sacrifice that speaks of true love.
