Jim, great piece of writing...I can only think the dance reflects the barbers movement around and around, back and forth about the chair while servicing the customers, one after another...thanks for the link on the PP which led me to you here..

Dark & foreboding. I like the second stanza and the implied uselessness of our actions. How often we rush to the rescue without a clue of what to do once we arrive. Again, your metre is perfect. Great flow.

I have no clue what this is about. I read it four times, and I still have no idea. Even still, I love it. And I find glimpses of my own truth in it. Your metre is spot-on, and I love the image of the efigy standing on a bar stool reciting her mantra. The one question I keep coming back to is "what does this all have to do with a barbershop?"
Hmmmmm. Very intriguing.
