This really touched me. As the adoptive mother of a child born with cleft lip and palate, I can relate to the dream on a very deep level.
So many children are "buried alive" because there is no one who will say to them, "Come to me. Let me love you. Let me take away the fear and lonliness so that you have the energy to reach your full potential." I see this message in this moving piece.

Wonderful story, I am a dog owner myself have a tri-colored cocker spaniel, and a toy poodle the poodle is my baby shes four and great, the Cocker Spaniel will be two April fools day

Enjoyed your story, Marilyn. Dogs truly do become 'one of the family.' I've currently got four of them in my family, and I am definitely at their beck and call 24-7. But I doubt I could ever live without a dog again.

this is so sad--my father has a gambling problem as well--fortunately, most of the time, he was also able to keep himself afloat--now, at 78, he is in debt more than he can get out of and it is mostly from the gambling

You are a very good writer and this is an amazing and disturbing dream. I too have had dreams that I never knew what they meant, some that the meaning comes to me later, some which have been previews of something that actually happened in real life, one beautiful one which I included as a dream that Little One has in the story.
I would guess that your dream may be to encourage you to keep helping children who have no one else to help them. You are truly a blessing to a lot of helpless children.

Thank you for sharing this lovely story of the relationship with your mother. Oh how I always wish I could have had that kind of relationship with my own mother. But circumstances being what they were in her life, she did not know how to be that kind of Mother.
I have found a sadness inside of myself FOR HER, that she did not have a better life. How I WISH she would have had a peaceful, joyful, happy life.
