It's a poem! Poems are, by nature, a bit formulaic, whether it's a sonnet or a hymn or a haiku! YOIKS! Thank you for the positive feedback to those who had it in them to offer it. As to the fellow reviewing through his lens of cynicism and criticism, I can only say, "LIGHTEN UP!" Or not. I shared this for people to enjoy. But like the poem says, change is inevitable, but progress is not.

This is an interesting mindset that seems too formulaic.
I believe that understanding yesterdays is imperative to building better tomorrows. You don't need to buy a book to do this. Suffering and mistakes are part of the equation too. In fact ... falling flat on your face and picking yourself up, understanding why you fell in the first place, and then moving on and not making the same mistakes again seems the real lesson. This heavily dosed with patience and perseverance and prayer and the love of your fellow man seems better to me than any formula for influencing people and selling books.
