I started smiling as I began to read your article, then chuckled as I read on, then laughed out loud until the end. When I read your last line,
"Having a baby is a lot like having sex--with a moose. "
I think I actually guffawed. Never used that word before but I think it's one level above simple laughter. Loved the article. I've already hit Author Tracker. - David

Profound poem. It breathes - and swims. The wonder of birth - then the fear of your "child" doing what he was born for. Ironic ending:
begging Him to
"swim,
swim up"
and
holding out ridiculous nets

I have read two of your poems: "Psych Ward" and "Credo" and I am stunned. The imagery is incredible and so is the honesty that transcends the facts to look for all the colors that compose the light.
Swimming, a child, birth, a fish... it all stayed with me after I finished reading.
And your lines about the sparkle of the divine that is in everyone of us are part of my philosophy/beliefs too. Some words did sound familiar.
