Thank you for your comments. The illustrations in the book were drawn by Daniela Frongia. The cover design was done by Daniela and Dawne Dominque. Actually, the first 2 words of the article are "Louie Lawent" as it relates an experience from my childhood. Yes, I'm hoping the article will spur sales.

I followed the link and found the Los Angeles Times article. Like Eva wrote, publicity like this from a major newspaper certainly can't hurt, and will most likely improve your status as an author.
I had trouble finding your name in the article until I found it as a caption under the photograph. I also found the illustration on the cover of Haley's Friendship to be very attractive. But I don't know who the illustrator was… You? Also there was a reference to you, "returning to Wisconsin." That was interesting to me because I grew up in Wisconsin and also went to California to study for my master's degree and spent three years there in the Bay Area before returning to Wisconsin to teach college.

Louie--incredible fluidity of words. I had to pick them apart from eachother to understand the piece. Walt Whitmanish in the beginning, but then took on different colors--no, different tangents pulled together to create an intricate web of jealous thought. I love your last two lines--the future nagging at you--it's awesome! --Charlie
