had me up until the last stanza. "A timely warning of our plight...
An avalanch seems so much more than a "warning" - "with a prayer we watch it pass"... This gift of grace Devine... This nod to mortal life... with the last four lines an acknowlegement, paying your respects, sending up a prayer of thanks, ect. then continuing the climb. Just a thought.

I so much enjoyed this poem! I especially like poems that tell a story and so I REALLY liked this one...but you definately have a gift with words. I felt like I was in that old '48 Chevvy truck!!

Growing the crops, plowing the fields, young one and old ones working together, dangerous sometimes, I just ate a lunch of Amis made rolls. That is what I bought at market yesterday and what I wanted for Sunday dinner. I do without meats often. Iced tea with the rolls was sufficient for me being alone and noone to eat or share a meal with. Prayers go out to you. This write is a humongously good one.
