Another Silent Night (Poetry) - 12/31/2023 5:52:22 PM
All too familiar heart break. Another dawn always, always shows promise in newness however. Happy New Year Poet Soul!
Another Silent Night (Poetry) - 12/21/2023 1:54:49 PM
Sad but so true. Beautifully expressed at a time when everybody believes they can be happy but some of us may have a hard time doing it.
Ron
Your Words (Poetry) - 10/16/2023 3:58:59 PM
Beautiful!
Your Words (Poetry) - 10/10/2023 9:45:07 AM
Once upon a time I used to write love poems. Mine were make-believe. Yours have the ring of truth. BTW, I had RSV and it did not come from inhaling a lady's breath as Ron H. suggests.
Your Words (Poetry) - 10/6/2023 6:24:10 PM
So passionately beautiful, Jay.
Your Words (Poetry) - 10/5/2023 12:51:39 PM
Profoundly stunning as always!
Your Words (Poetry) - 10/4/2023 11:02:20 AM
The master of writing poems of love. Well done.
Your Words (Poetry) - 10/4/2023 8:29:20 AM
You know that women like words. And you're very good at conveying them in a way that I know women love much more than men.
But I would caution you when it comes to breathing in the breath of women into your lungs. That's a good way to get RSV these days, or worse, pneumonia. ;-)
Ron
Your Words (Poetry) - 10/4/2023 6:59:30 AM
Beautiful words can always inspire or lift another up in spirit, and a poem such as yours is dedicated to the one you love in beautiful sentiment. Well done, P.S.!!!
Sandie
Heavenly Body (Poetry) - 9/21/2023 7:01:07 AM
Beautiful and intense romance, Jay. Well penned as always.
Heavenly Body (Poetry) - 9/14/2023 9:51:12 AM
You have certainly taken love poetry to celestial heights embedding love into the universe, usually terribly destructive, but romantic when viewed from very far, long ago.
The only thing that I have trouble with is heavy topaz. ;-)
Ron
Heavenly Body (Poetry) - 9/14/2023 7:03:01 AM
No one does better, what I call your intimacy poems, true revelations of what could be.
Heavenly Body (Poetry) - 9/14/2023 4:04:30 AM
Wowsers! This sends shivers down my spine. And a few new ideas.
Heavenly Body (Poetry) - 9/13/2023 7:17:05 PM
Soulful and passionate! So beautifully written!!!
Sandie
Heavenly Body (Poetry) - 9/13/2023 3:33:12 PM
Simply gloriously and exquisitely stated!
Always Be (Poetry) - 9/12/2023 8:49:36 AM
Our heartfelt desire is often overtaken
by simple human frailty..
Bittersweet is Love…
Diana…🌿
Always Be (Poetry) - 9/6/2023 11:42:26 AM
so many lovely soulful expressions strung together , love it
The Last Fairytale (Poetry) - 9/6/2023 9:09:16 AM
So sad, Jay. We have to sometimes remember that fairytales, however beautiful, can't compete with love's reality.
Always Be (Poetry) - 9/6/2023 9:07:44 AM
Oh so beautiful, some things are meant to be and some things are forever.
Always Be (Poetry) - 8/24/2023 8:57:32 AM
Effective use of repetition and everything so unexpected, exactly the way a poem should be. Loved this.
Always Be (Poetry) - 8/24/2023 8:00:12 AM
Some of us are just suckers for pain and misery trying to reach the unreachable. I read that into your poem where people are attracted to one another but can't make it work even though they dream of making it work. So many relationships like this. Especially when young and immature in our decision-making while our hormones are raging.
Ron
Always Be (Poetry) - 8/24/2023 4:28:35 AM
Beautiful strong message of true fellowship of the heart
The Last Fairytale (Poetry) - 8/23/2023 9:34:08 AM
Very wistful and lyrical as you gradually arrived at the sad conclusion. A cool write for those who find that all their dreams for a beautiful relationship never quite comes true. If that is so, this poem will have millions of readers.
Ron
The Last Fairytale (Poetry) - 8/22/2023 9:22:25 AM
Imaginative and beautifully expressed.
The Last Fairytale (Poetry) - 8/21/2023 6:11:25 PM
I think all people relate to this and have been through this . Greatly penned ~
Love Psychology 101 (Poetry) - 8/12/2023 10:00:56 AM
Quite different from your usual poems but along the same subject line. Discussions of sex and love seem endless, but Sigmund Freud, the eminent psychologist, clearly describe human behavior driven largely by sex, the primal imperative. And who has not experienced emotion while having sex? A machine?
Many theologians and philosophers have tried to tackle love. I seem to remember that it was either Heidegger or Kierkegaard that described love better than anyone else before or after.
I guess your humorous conclusion in your offering is as good as any (some still prefer a smoke) just as long as they don't eat the ice cream too fast and get brain freeze… It'll ruin the experience.
Ron
Beautiful Eyes (Poetry) - 8/7/2023 12:48:20 AM
Beautiful and well written.
Take a Chance on Me (Poetry) - 8/7/2023 12:46:48 AM
Hope your dreams come true for you.
Love Psychology 101 (Poetry) - 8/6/2023 11:14:59 AM
That makes sense! Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us in a poetic form!
Sandie
Love Psychology 101 (Poetry) - 8/6/2023 7:20:52 AM
I love the lessons you impart with your poetic ways dear poet soul :)
Beautiful Eyes (Poetry) - 8/6/2023 7:17:01 AM
They are indeed the mirror of the soul dear poet, no matter what the color, the soul reflects its own goodness or not, nicely penned, thanks for sharing.
Cold as Ice (Poetry) - 8/6/2023 7:00:42 AM
Extrodinary emotion PS.
Take a Chance on Me (Poetry) - 7/29/2023 9:10:09 AM
Your first two stanzas are pure fantasy and can never come true, but they're the kind of language that melts a woman's heart, nonetheless.
Another one of your poems that reflect your romantic self. I hope they catch some of the fishes in the sea. (for those who have lost loves, it is said that there are many fish in the sea.)
Ron
Take a Chance on Me (Poetry) - 7/28/2023 2:49:38 PM
Soft tender and yet resilient offering great promise of eternal love. This is a beauty dear poet. I really enjoyed reading this, thank you
Take a Chance on Me (Poetry) - 7/28/2023 12:20:11 PM
So precious and amazing Poets Soul. Have you ever tried writing songs or articles? I think you might be good at it .. BTW what is your first name? I call Mystic Rose Vienna because that's her first name. Thanks so much for your reviews. Have a beautiful day):
Take a Chance on Me (Poetry) - 7/28/2023 7:17:25 AM
So romantic and filled with great sentiment.
Sandie
Take a Chance on Me (Poetry) - 7/27/2023 8:25:15 AM
A tender love poem full of measure and control.
Beautiful Eyes (Poetry) - 7/1/2023 1:19:13 PM
Each verse is as beautiful as the eyes it gives tribute to. Lovely poem, Jay.
Beautiful Eyes (Poetry) - 6/20/2023 5:09:29 PM
Our eyes are windows to our souls, and there are many kinds of eyes, and you seem to know them all so well. Thank you for sharing!
Sandie
Beautiful Eyes (Poetry) - 6/19/2023 10:11:22 AM
Indeed, eyes can be extremely tantalizing, as you have intimately described here in this bewitching poem.
Beautiful Eyes (Poetry) - 6/19/2023 8:15:49 AM
The eyes have it! I'll vote along with you on any of them. You didn't mention black eyes… Eyes with irises so dark they look black. Women that have them have a perpetual look of dilated pupils. So attractive you are drawn into them.
Where can I get a transplant of eyes like in the photo?
Ron
Wildfire Out of Control (Poetry) - 6/9/2023 2:26:36 PM
No one does romance like you PS. This ones beautiful as always):
Wildfire Out of Control (Poetry) - 6/5/2023 1:35:46 PM
That was a hot one! Nearly singed my brain as I read. So glad you got cooled off in the end. I'm not sure about the screaming though, usually means someone is in deep trouble rather than at the peak of enjoyment.
Ron
Wildfire Out of Control (Poetry) - 6/4/2023 8:30:06 AM
Wow, such a romantic poem, written by a romantic at heart. Great rhythm, rhyme and flow.
Moonlight Madness (Poetry) - 5/30/2023 8:47:36 AM
You are the romatic with enough soul to fill your pages with love. Just beautiful Jay.
Moonlight Madness (Poetry) - 5/24/2023 9:23:45 AM
This love under the moon poem is full of explosions and lightning strikes! And all before you haven't even touched! Very expressive, but rather scary. Can always blame it on the moon.
You put a damper on your poem in the first line by not making the moon possessive with an apostrophe, but making it plural.
Ron
Moonlight Madness (Poetry) - 5/23/2023 6:27:43 AM
Some lovely images here: "angel whispers!" "And the fireflies dance to the music of our love." The moon casts its spell on us poets.
Moonlight Madness (Poetry) - 5/22/2023 7:13:29 PM
Loved every line especially: Your words are angel whispers
That cradles my heart!!
Wow, just wow gloriously stunning):
Sometimes in the Night (Poetry) - 4/16/2023 8:11:14 AM
It doesn't get any better than this. The epitome of "sweet dreams." And, so often those sweet dreams are interrupted like your last stanza shows.
Ron
Sometimes in the Night (Poetry) - 4/15/2023 10:55:02 AM
When the poet heightens his sense through the flow of such words and images, the readers' senses are also heightened by the beauty of the imagined experience. Never were never so romantic as this.
Sometimes in the Night (Poetry) - 4/15/2023 7:59:09 AM
So romantic and beautifully penned.
Sometimes in the Night (Poetry) - 4/15/2023 2:17:40 AM
Ah, fleeting dreams. The frustration to wake up when their at their best. And all put in to an elegant and beautiful text.
Sometimes in the Night (Poetry) - 4/14/2023 6:10:26 PM
One of your absolute BEST in glorious picture pallet imagery.
Thank you for this beauty
Pain of Love (Poetry) - 4/7/2023 1:58:08 AM
Sad, longing and beautiful poem.
Pain of Love (Poetry) - 4/4/2023 9:45:45 AM
Heart touching, so sad and beautifully penned.
Pain of Love (Poetry) - 4/3/2023 5:35:31 PM
Deeply profoundly penned Poet Soul...I've broken several hearts and have had dozens broken in me...I know this feeling all too well and I could have written 20,000 books about the break ups. However it gave me gifts of strength and a knowing of myself far, far greater and with those gifts were at the time unseen became revelations of a greater births of gifts.
Dream Exploration (Poetry) - 3/24/2023 10:49:28 AM
"In the reality of a dream-filled night", the lovely juxtaposition leads us deeper into the poem's interior. Such a romantic exploration in the watery blue depths of the soul. So dreamy and enchanting.
When the Whispers of Love Gently Fall (Poetry) - 3/20/2023 8:29:13 PM
Such a lovely poem full of passion hunger and love. You own a delicate quill, love it
Sweet Intimacy (Poetry) - 3/11/2023 8:37:14 AM
"Nothing lasts forever," caught my eye and the concept that ecstasy always wishes to go on timelessly, until it doesn't.
You are a master of intimate love poetry. Poems like this should be printed on intimate underwear. You could make a fortune selling them. ;-)
Ron
Sweet Intimacy (Poetry) - 3/11/2023 8:08:36 AM
An interesting take of the sweet nature of intimacy, that rare and unique sense of presence in a relationship that is comparable to none. Fine work here.
Sweet Intimacy (Poetry) - 3/11/2023 2:33:36 AM
Indeed, for most of us this is true. Well written!
Devilish Eyes (Poetry) - 3/9/2023 10:28:17 AM
We all have a little bit of the devil in us. Thanks for the acknowledgment and for the poem that tells me how the devil conquers.
Ron
Devilish Eyes (Poetry) - 3/8/2023 12:40:19 PM
Good fun and devilish indeed. To me, you look like one of the three musketeers! They were devilishly adept, weren't they?
Devilish Eyes (Poetry) - 3/8/2023 3:27:25 AM
Beautiful and tender.
Devilish Eyes (Poetry) - 3/7/2023 11:03:12 PM
That is quite a look, big bro, and you are that naughty devil putting a woman under your spell. Love this piece, big bro. Thanks for writing it.
Loving Up a Storm (Poetry) - 3/7/2023 9:19:03 AM
That is certainly one way to eliminate the fear of a storm. But again, the way you have written this, the passion of love is enhanced by the passion of the storm to rip the sky open and let the rain fall come what may in the heat of the night. Actually quite cool.
There is no difference between "… echoes it's rolling…" and "With its wicked…" Except one is incorrect. ;-)
Why does your picture make you so devilish looking? ;-)
Ron
Loving Up a Storm (Poetry) - 3/7/2023 2:01:51 AM
Sensual words of love and extacy. Enjoyed.
The Artist (Poetry) - 3/6/2023 6:07:55 AM
Indeed all the colors on the artist's palate are suggestive of something amazing. Fine work.
The Artist (Poetry) - 3/6/2023 6:01:20 AM
Ah, spoken like a true artist dear Pout. Only a writer with
passion and love in the heart can write the way you did,
when word and art combine, there is an explosion of talent,
Loved it. Have a blessed day :)
The Artist (Poetry) - 3/5/2023 9:35:47 PM
Amazing painting, both on canvas with paint and on screen with words. Keep writing and keep painting as you have great work to display. Your special lady must be fantastic and I hope you take care of eachother so you can keep dancing together through life!
How High (Poetry) - 3/5/2023 3:21:58 PM
wow a very powerful message here, love the ending a mirror imaged moment of love and loss. Thankyou for sharing, may your heart be returned some day soon
How High (Poetry) - 3/5/2023 10:45:14 AM
A very measured, controlled and tight poem with deep implications. I like your use of repetition as well. Excellent.
How High (Poetry) - 3/5/2023 9:31:28 AM
This poem is a departure from your usual approach, but a bit more honest about what drives you to write poetry with the hope of filling that hole where your heart used to be.
That's a great picture of you. But I think that snow may be a rare occasion. Except in this rather wintry winter. We get snow rarely here in Houston, about every 10 years. Nothing this year so far. She wants to make snowballs.
Ron
How High (Poetry) - 3/5/2023 2:24:10 AM
Follow your dreams, but be careful not to break in the process. Over our heart and soul we have no command. Be mindful though, that in love communication is the key. You can’t truly know what is going on in someones head until you ask, eye to eye. That’s how me and my husband solve everything, we stop eachother in our steps and ask what is going on. Ten times out of ten, it is outer forces not related to us as a couple that is disturbing our peace. Sorry about the unsolicited advice. Seems like a personal question related to an issue close at hand. Occupational hazard of being a social worker. Great piece of writing, I think we can all relate. Check out my new poem that is directly inspired by this.
Poetry in Motion (Poetry) - 3/3/2023 10:12:38 AM
I must say your romance poems are exquisite. Keep on writing.
My Sweet Gemini (Poetry) - 3/2/2023 9:42:33 AM
A wishful poem with romantic mystical assistance. May the stars line up just right for you and her come running back.
Ron
My Sweet Gemini (Poetry) - 3/2/2023 6:27:48 AM
A beautiful walk down memory lane.
Timeless (Poetry) - 12/2/2022 12:19:27 PM
A beautiful and timeless poem.
Timeless (Poetry) - 11/15/2022 9:56:30 AM
Indeed, there is a timelessness to the feeling of love that cannot compare, giving us the sense and touch of the eternal. Perhaps that is why it is so painful when love is lost.
Timeless (Poetry) - 11/15/2022 9:33:26 AM
Bonding in perfect symmetry. It doesn't get any better. Come to think of it, it describes the symmetry of my last 30 years with my partner. We complement each other so well. I just feel bad sometimes that I can't do more for her.
Ron
Timeless (Poetry) - 11/14/2022 8:32:19 PM
this was a short but meaningful piece. i love the style and technique you have done here, big bro, another delightful read.
Tears from the Sun (Poetry) - 11/14/2022 6:38:33 PM
this piece is exquisite, big bro. i love that line, never meaning to fall upon the dreamer. i love how you crafted this piece and the words you used.
Tears from the Sun (Poetry) - 11/10/2022 6:38:19 PM
As usual your poems are so deeply heartfelt. Its great to see you Poets Soul. Hope all is well in your world
Tears from the Sun (Poetry) - 11/10/2022 10:40:26 AM
Could also have been titled, Once upon a Dream. But that title, like most is probably already taken.
Dreams certainly are hard to come true, especially if they involve others who do not understand. When the melancholy see the setting sun, they think much differently than those lovers viewing the same scene.
Ron
Tears from the Sun (Poetry) - 11/10/2022 7:17:19 AM
Lovely, succinct and to the point. Dreams an be so dreamy and yes, they don't always, or necessarily need, to come true, just exist and be there when we need them. Perhaps that is enough.
Truth and Happiness (Poetry) - 11/9/2022 12:38:32 AM
Very true and beautifully written.
Truth and Happiness (Poetry) - 11/7/2022 7:22:38 AM
You always write with a lightness that lifts one's heart to read. In spite of the initial sad tone, you have a way of bringing happiness back by the end.
Ron
Truth and Happiness (Poetry) - 11/7/2022 4:11:24 AM
hey! you're back! that makes me ecstatic! i love your comeback piece, big bro. for me, it is full of hope.
Truth and Happiness (Poetry) - 11/6/2022 11:53:35 AM
The stars are eternal and so is the beauty they impart. Have been missing your lovely poetry. Welcome back.
In a Moment (Poetry) - 9/23/2022 5:18:55 PM
Very emotional pen and deeply beautiful
Yin Yang Butterfly (Poetry) - 9/22/2022 10:23:32 AM
When I read your words, it's almost as if I am reading the lyrics to a beautiful song. What a wonderful flight it was to read it, thank you for sharing, your creative heart with me today. You definitely have a poetic soul, and you stay true to your name.
Yin Yang Butterfly (Poetry) - 9/22/2022 8:44:58 AM
It certainly does take two to tango. And your slow take to love favors the distaff well.
Ron
Yin Yang Butterfly (Poetry) - 9/20/2022 11:38:27 PM
i'm glad you're back. i missed your romantic pieces. i most especially loved the last stanza, sweet and endearing, one cannot say no to you big bro. big bro version 2.0
Poetry in Motion (Poetry) - 9/13/2022 12:22:28 AM
that was beautiful especially the last stanza, i loved every line. this deserves an applause, big bro. cheers to you.
Poetry in Motion (Poetry) - 9/12/2022 11:55:50 AM
Wow. This was so exceptionally beautiful
Poetry in Motion (Poetry) - 9/10/2022 9:28:48 AM
Love that title. And you put everything in motion with your words. Words that are never "without rhyme," because rhyme and repetition, especially to a beat or rhythm are fundamental to good lovemaking! If your poem turns into creating a mental movement in your soul along with that of your lover, you have evolved into a whole new realm of love and lovemaking.
Ron
Satisfying My Senses (Poetry) - 9/9/2022 12:54:17 AM
beautiful collab, big bro and nicely done. your first stanza reminded me of how much the river adored Narcissus for looking at her, because she was seeing her beauty through Narcissus' eyes.
Satisfying My Senses (Poetry) - 9/8/2022 9:43:59 AM
Lovemaking as it should be, all wrapped up in two mirrored poems. Nicely done. It covers all the bases. But I wonder, with our hectic lives and fears of all kinds, whether this kind of lovemaking as a chance anymore. But we can dream, can we?
Ron
I'll Say Your Name (Poetry) - 9/5/2022 5:30:21 PM
So beautiful this painted glorious canvas. Thank you for this escape
Language of Love (Poetry) - 9/5/2022 4:20:58 PM
oh you- Mr. romantic poet who is fluent in the language of love. i loved the style you applied here, big bro. the weather'd hot but this piece is burning.
I'll Say Your Name (Poetry) - 9/5/2022 4:17:49 PM
last line made me smile, big bro. you are quite a romantic tease. always, thank you for your poetry, every time i read it, it makes moments even more worthwhile.
I'll Say Your Name (Poetry) - 9/5/2022 11:21:26 AM
I like what you bring to the genre of love poems, something new and unique, a simplicity that belies the profundity of love, a simplicity that makes clear the tenderness of love. Bravo.
I'll Say Your Name (Poetry) - 9/5/2022 9:59:57 AM
It is very obvious that you know the way to a woman's heart--words.
I don't know about you, but throughout my life if I came upon a strange woman and she began calling me honey, baby or sweetheart without even knowing my name, it made me feel a bit uncomfortable. If they called me by my name even if they got it wrong, like calling me Mr. Ronald, I didn't feel so bad. Just to cut the formality and call me…
Ron
I'll Say Your Name (Poetry) - 9/5/2022 9:00:47 AM
Our names are part of our identity. Beautiful message.
Language of Love (Poetry) - 9/4/2022 3:19:17 PM
So beautifully loving and erotic. A gentle yet fiery tribute to passion.
Language of Love (Poetry) - 9/4/2022 8:23:57 AM
I'd rather have my desires quenched rather than scorched, but otherwise about as fiery passionate as a plug and get. All the right adjectives, adverbs and sensuality that anyone could desire.
Ron
Language of Love (Poetry) - 9/4/2022 8:22:22 AM
Ditto what Alexander wrote below. Such a lovely, loving, evocative poem.
Language of Love (Poetry) - 9/3/2022 4:07:28 PM
This is soft and beautiful, words that cling to the heart, thank you for sharing
The Death of a Poet (Poetry) - 9/3/2022 1:45:00 PM
So inspiring, but then so very sad.
Poets of the Heart (Poetry) - 9/3/2022 1:42:13 PM
Indeed, it brings a pain to think of our hours of straining to catch the perfect word to express the yearning of our souls; to cry out and never share the burden of our souls, for when we have left our earthly lives behind, what will become of our poems?
This is a beautiful poem. I think I will have to read "The Death of a Poet" before I leave.
Ocean Thoughts (Poetry) - 9/3/2022 11:54:11 AM
Distance does, make the heart grow fonder but not that easy to be with. But it could be a metaphor for a love that just does not work, literally, oceans apart.
Reminded me very much of my girlfriend, a nurse at Stanford Hospital, with some old-fashioned ideas who left on a working trip around the world. I followed her with letters and poems.
But when she was working at a quarantine station in Australia, I sent her a very honest letter about my experience with another woman while she was so far away from me, she tore up my letter and poem and threw them into Sydney Bay. According to her friend and former roommate, because I never heard from her again.
Ron
Ocean Thoughts (Poetry) - 9/3/2022 9:02:34 AM
What a beautiful, beautiful place poet soul
Ocean Thoughts (Poetry) - 9/3/2022 7:27:43 AM
"As I catch them (the whispers) one by one and place them in my mind." Such longings expressed in such a beautiful manner. That's poetry for you.
Ocean Thoughts (Poetry) - 9/3/2022 6:02:44 AM
Such beautiful longing, eloquently expressed.
Ocean Thoughts (Poetry) - 9/3/2022 4:43:28 AM
aww you are the sweetest, big bro. this is so romantic, and a lovely addition to my peaceful evening. thank you.
I give You a Star (Poetry) - 9/2/2022 12:34:28 PM
Ouch! I only wish you had chosen some other vessel for your dreams. Stars are certainly a strong life force throughout the universe, but they are nothing but extremely hot gas and, in this case, not far away and twinkling through the atmosphere to be like forever in that same sky every night and not going away, just cool and inviting.
Otherwise, I find sharing your dreams with your love, wonderful.
Ron
I give You a Star (Poetry) - 9/2/2022 7:58:34 AM
A brilliant symbolic image superbly executed: simple, understated, and yes beautiful. Among other things, a poem needs to be satisfying to the reader who is glad to have read the poem. This one truly is satisfying on many levels.
I give You a Star (Poetry) - 9/2/2022 4:37:01 AM
oh, suddenly i got the urge to witness the dream coming true while your love releases it. what a sight would that be. beautiful piece, big bro. i loved the line- no more falling stars that fade in time.
I give You a Star (Poetry) - 9/1/2022 9:08:06 PM
Very sweet and promising words in the declaration of your love. I enjoyed this.
Sandie
Poets of the Heart (Poetry) - 9/1/2022 5:21:19 AM
this is so romantically executed. i loved it, big bro, my favorite so far. and i know there's going to be another one.
Poets of the Heart (Poetry) - 8/31/2022 7:25:30 PM
Your words are like icing on a cake, yet dances with such incredible muse of prolific fruits !
Poets of the Heart (Poetry) - 8/31/2022 8:27:38 AM
A good question posed by your poem. Some folks need poets to interpret romance for them. These are generally lonely souls who have difficulty with romance and seek it through words such as yours.
But not to worry, when you are gone there will always be romantics who will write the words for the next generation to ponder. Great ones will come and go like the leaves of autumn. And some words, like yours, may be ensconced in history where they will be read over and over again many generations to come.
Ron
Poets of the Heart (Poetry) - 8/31/2022 7:55:14 AM
Such lulling, dreamy verse about the poet and his words. I will claim some of the resonance of this one, being a poet myself. When I am gone, the words will be left behind. More than that, we cannot do. I look forward to reading your work.
Lovers of the Dawn (Poetry) - 8/29/2022 10:24:12 AM
That certainly is a dream that some of us experienced in our younger years when we were carefree and had the time to linger. But obligations tend to come along and that alarm clock goes off way too early to savor the dawn and her for most of us, unfortunately.
Ron
Lovers of the Dawn (Poetry) - 8/29/2022 7:45:13 AM
The interaction of these feelings of love with the arrival of dawn have a magical quality that uplifts this poem into misty heights. Lovely.
Music of the Night (Poetry) - 8/28/2022 4:35:26 PM
what a night. well done, big bro! i love your sensuous, passionate, and romantic style.
Music of the Night (Poetry) - 8/27/2022 5:33:24 PM
As usual your words are like fine beautiful silk
Music of the Night (Poetry) - 8/27/2022 2:04:55 PM
I thought immediately of the Phantom of the Opera. A play and movie that I have not seen, but the theme song is everywhere and beautiful to listen to.
From what I read I don't see any instruments or any singing. What I see is an allegory comparing lovemaking to a sweet song being danced to. Anyone who can pull off lovemaking that lyrical and sweet, is guaranteed to woo most ladies who come anywhere near the hypnotizing beat.
Ron
Music of the Night (Poetry) - 8/27/2022 12:06:48 PM
I believe this could be called erotic soul poetry, intense, deep, rich.
When the Flower Weeps (Poetry) - 8/26/2022 5:57:02 PM
wonderful read, big bro. this is a masterpiece. i loved this especially the last two lines.
When the Flower Weeps (Poetry) - 8/26/2022 12:17:21 PM
I missed my hubby so much!!! - the way he hugged me and ran his fingers through my hair. Often whispered "I love you" into my ears. He was the sweetest man to me. I wish he was still alive. I cannot find another man to replace him.
Sandie
When the Flower Weeps (Poetry) - 8/26/2022 9:02:56 AM
Love your image of the flower crying. A simple poem, beautifully crafted.
When the Flower Weeps (Poetry) - 8/26/2022 7:52:30 AM
Been there done that and what doesn't kill you makes you so much better with wisdom , compassion and endurance. What temporary breaks you makes you with profound gifts..Beautiful write friend..
Earthbound (Poetry) - 8/25/2022 11:40:42 AM
Oh so romantic, spell-binding.
The Death of a Poet (Poetry) - 8/25/2022 11:27:44 AM
What seems as a death, but only be a temporary hiatus, a pause, in the flow of the inspiration of the muse. It is not always continuous, but can be intermittent. The Muse will return when she wants.
Earthbound (Poetry) - 8/24/2022 8:48:51 AM
Now that is a flight of fancy, if I ever read one! It would be nice if every man had an angel who would give her wings. Many of the world's troubles would disappear.
Thirty years ago, I hired an angel to work for me and my great need to remain independent. She quickly shed all thoughts of flying away and gave me her wings. Now she yearns to fly away while she still can, but finds that she is still here, her wings clipped until I am gone because she allows me so much, she can't let go and have me suffer without help. I long to give her back her wings and set her free. If I can, I will. Then she can fly back anytime she wants just to make sure that I'm being cared for well.
Ron

The Death of a Poet (Poetry) - 8/23/2022 10:30:21 AM
Heartfelt poem, and well-expressed emotions! I hope she will realize your dedication and goodness and find her way back to you.
Sandie
The Death of a Poet (Poetry) - 8/23/2022 9:46:18 AM
Your muse was definitely a very emotional and romantic one. Let us hope she is just lost and will find her way back into your writing very soon. Very nice personification for what all poets need to have ready when they want to write the next great poem.
Ron
Encore (Poetry) - 8/21/2022 5:18:28 PM
Dear PS:
I think you are the one with a beautiful heart!!! I remember those days when we had so much fun like a large AD family. We cared so much for each other.
I'm so happy you have kept this poem. This brings back so many good memories.
Thank you, dear Poet!!!
Sandie
Encore (Poetry) - 8/21/2022 12:46:48 PM
Have lots of beautiful painted sunrises and sets. Cheers to you !
Encore (Poetry) - 8/21/2022 9:02:27 AM
What a trip down memory lane!. I joined about 2002 but since I was working full-time only posted my weekly poem on Sunday when I read a few poems, stories and articles and commented. The teacher and tutor in me not just praising but also giving the best advice I could, including pointing out typos. I make them more often now.
As a result of my only posting and reading on Sunday, I missed communication with over half of the poets you've honored. But I really missed Eileen for her love of the universe. I found Jill able to write perfect poetry of a romantic quality and even met her one time downtown on her way to a radio poetry reading for Valentine's Day that she did yearly.
I never was interested in the gossipy friends game that took place and seemed to limit serious poetry. But I was always interested in good short stories and novels. They were my muse. The poetry contests were a big draw, and that's why I think so many poets came to post. But I'm so glad to see authors coming back to post again after years away.
Ron
Encore (Poetry) - 8/20/2022 11:21:40 PM
you sure are the sweetest, big bro. I love this, Encore, super fun to read. I am sure you have made an imprint in everyone else as well.
Mystery Behind Blue Eyes (Poetry) - 8/20/2022 12:02:15 PM
It seems that which we cannot have that creates the greatest passion, like your poem.
I am told that all children when they are born have blue eyes. I don't know except that my entire family has blue eyes except my mother because of our Germanic origin.
So I would suggest that you have a daughter and I'm sure when she is born you will love her as much as you do this mystery in your poem. Maybe that's what your dream is after all. The hope for a healthy, beautiful girl child.
Ron
Mystery Behind Blue Eyes (Poetry) - 8/19/2022 6:21:50 PM
i love how you put words in how this woman captivated you, big bro. a fairytale with no ending, there is a certain allure to that line. it's one of the best compliments there is. thank you for writing this.
Crystal Blue Persuasion (Poetry) - 8/15/2022 8:00:53 PM
i find your piece very magnetic, big bro. they are indeed windows of the soul. i love the way you used crystal blue persuasion, indeed such befitting words.
Crystal Blue Persuasion (Poetry) - 8/15/2022 10:39:03 AM
You have nearly captured all of life with your magical phrase...
"Crystal blue persuasion." Superb!
Crystal Blue Persuasion (Poetry) - 8/14/2022 8:57:21 AM
Your title immediately reminded me of that beautiful classic song by Tommy James and the Shondells. Unlike the others, I found this poem to be a bit forced. Your other poems are much more romantic.
Please let me know what drug creates a change in pupils making them larger and heart-shaped. It will be the love drug of choice for everyone after that.
Ron
Crystal Blue Persuasion (Poetry) - 8/14/2022 8:03:16 AM
There is a hypnotic quality to the rhythmic lines of this poem that is intense and powerful. The title is perfect (I'm a stickler for titles) as its symbolism runs emphatically throughout the poem. Excellent.
Crystal Blue Persuasion (Poetry) - 8/13/2022 11:29:39 AM
You say it softly and so well, no need to do any other thing but read gently and absorb the well seeded words of passion and love. Its like a gentle caress on the skin, Thank you
Writing Names in Hearts (Poetry) - 8/11/2022 6:05:46 PM
this is such a romantic piece, wonderful, and a joy to read, big bro. pleasant and endearing.
Writing Names in Hearts (Poetry) - 8/11/2022 2:10:13 PM
Methinks according to the photo that there were three heart beating in unison. But it is a small technicality with the overall essence of people in love over having a newborn very soon.
Ron
Writing Names in Hearts (Poetry) - 8/10/2022 4:25:56 PM
A romantic think of beauty (a joy forever).
Game of Life (Poetry) - 8/10/2022 9:30:44 AM
A bit of harsh reality presented here and the young and the old battle the war against time. In this game, there are not winners, but the game itself.
Game of Life (Poetry) - 8/10/2022 9:26:38 AM
I like how you have moved away from romance poems for your last two. Yes, it is a game. A game of survival for most. And for most, their only contribution is children pass on their name and nothing more. So many of us waste our lives on trivial things like entertainment and following others instead of doing something good while we still have time.
I hope I still am able to do the challenge I set my doctoral purpose… "Do something beneficial for humankind."
Your image tells it all.
Ron
I am no Stranger (Poetry) - 8/9/2022 7:58:16 AM
I love the perspective of life that you have presented. We all can relate to it. And I have traveled most of those paths you have presented except two. Except for animals that I have killed and mourned in the process, I have not been up close to death. But I do not fear it because it is a natural part of every life. And I'm not very emotional.
I find that those who are emotional tend to be more easily deceived and addicted. They lead shorter lives than those of us who have calm, optimistic perspectives in the face of the worst evil that comes along.
Ron
I am no Stranger (Poetry) - 8/8/2022 4:27:04 PM
The strongest of men are those who never hide their true feelings, it takes a brave one to do so at times, I commend you dear poet. To thine own self be true, wish they taught that one in school at a very young age I might add, thank you for sharing.
I am no Stranger (Poetry) - 8/8/2022 8:38:39 AM
Negative sentiments cast into a positive light by the measure and balance of the writing. The repetition you employ in this poem works well and is very effective, kind of hypnotizing. Well done.
I am no Stranger (Poetry) - 8/7/2022 6:39:54 PM
We all have these emotions from time to time, but only our dear Poet Soul can write them so well. I enjoyed this, PS!!
Sandie
I am no Stranger (Poetry) - 8/7/2022 5:02:37 PM
hey big bro, what is it with coffee and poetry that makes my morning lovely and enjoyable. thank you for writing this piece. it is very courageous to display ones vulnerability.
When I was Young (Poetry) - 8/7/2022 12:33:24 PM
Sounds like you have some beautiful colorful sonnets of glory past !
When I was Young (Poetry) - 8/7/2022 11:41:59 AM
You weren't a foolish child. You were just a child, like a 10-year-old who befriended me recently freely telling me things like, "We are moving to Minneapolis." But that was three months ago and I see no movement from his family's place.
Whenever I'm where children are playing, I hear lots of laughter still. But I have known recently going into family homes and finding the children so engrossed in their cell phones that they don't laugh or even acknowledge that anyone different is there.
Ron
When I was Young (Poetry) - 8/7/2022 6:12:44 AM
this was such a delight to read, big bro. your best so far. it took me back to my childhood while journeying through yours. i love the memories you showed us. thank you, this piece was much enjoyed.
When I was Young (Poetry) - 8/6/2022 2:34:28 PM
You were not foolish at all, in fact you were very wise and observant, one of the lucky ones that remembered and put it to poetry, Splendidly written dear poet. Thank you for sharing the beauty of your youth with me today,
When I was Young (Poetry) - 8/6/2022 1:48:57 PM
Foolish children had more fun being friends. We were not the backstabbing kind and we assumed all friends to be truthful and loyal. Those were the days we did not have to worry about anything. Just be ourselves and have fun.
Good job on this poem!

Captivating (Poetry) - 8/4/2022 5:21:06 AM
Beautifully romantic and sensual.
Captivating (Poetry) - 8/3/2022 10:35:28 PM
Two hearts entwined and the passions grow like wildfire, captivating each other.
Sandie
Captivating (Poetry) - 8/3/2022 8:07:51 PM
hot coffee, rainy weather, and this piece of poetry- what else can I ask for? all is perfect here.
Captivating (Poetry) - 8/3/2022 7:29:50 PM
I believe it was a golfer who gave us the expression, "Wowzer!"
He must have been reading your poetry. The picture alone set the page on fire. Then you shoveled in the hot coals. This is hot, hot, hot!
Loves Addiction (Poetry) - 8/2/2022 9:12:32 AM
You devil, you! That serpent tongue does it every time! One thing about love addiction as long as it's practiced by two the constant exercise and forgetting to eat will make the couple very thin, fit and trim. Unfortunately, if the addiction is only one sided, it may end up with an eating disorder leading to hell on earth where erotic love no longer can be practiced and suffering sets in to take its place.
I guess that's the downside of being addicted to love and losing it.
Ron
Loves Addiction (Poetry) - 8/2/2022 8:30:27 AM
Love is probably the strongest addiction of them all. So well described here.
Loves Addiction (Poetry) - 8/1/2022 11:20:27 PM
in you is the great spirit of fervor and passion. you are "the lover", big bro. and i'm sure, it's a beautiful entrapment.
Loves Addiction (Poetry) - 8/1/2022 7:48:02 PM
It sounds like a night of passion is to be had by both.
A very passionate write indeed, PS!!!
Sandie
Loves Addiction (Poetry) - 8/1/2022 11:29:19 AM
I may be the Poetess Of the Heart but I think you are the King of Passion. Well penned as always, Poet.
Unspoken Words (Poetry) - 8/1/2022 2:18:16 AM
you are very sweet, big bro. now i kinda understand. and oh, if she reads your poetry, she'll definitely know.
Unspoken Words (Poetry) - 7/31/2022 12:29:08 PM
This poem reminds me of the movie: As Good As It Gets, starring Jack Nicolson as a guy who has a problem professing his love to Helen Hunt.
Yes, in reality, there are a lot of guys like the one you are describing in your poem.
Sandie
Unspoken Words (Poetry) - 7/31/2022 9:48:19 AM
A poem with a clarification why women feel that their man doesn't talk enough about his love for her. Beautifully written and accurately told.
This man has difficulty expressing love to the ones you love him most and not so much for those who have rejected him for declaring his love to them, making him fearful of doing it again.
Ron
Unspoken Words (Poetry) - 7/31/2022 8:20:20 AM
Indeed, what you say is very true, the unspoken can be much more powerful even than the spoken, especially when it is translated as positive action. Well penned theme often neglected.
Penned (Poetry) - 7/31/2022 2:24:12 AM
this is probably one of the sweetest poems I've read. lucky to be reading this on a sunday afternoon. thank you, big bro.
Penned (Poetry) - 7/30/2022 5:05:21 PM
It's good that you can write about your love experience in the poems I'm just the opposite: Unless I rated it as a biography or memoir poem, most of my poems are in the fantasy genre.
When I first began writing my poems people would always think I was talking about myself too, especially when I wrote about love. I think some friends in authorsden still think I was talking about myself when I write love poems. I think it is because most poets do talk about their life experiences when writing poetry.
Your poems are very beautiful to read, even the sad ones. I enjoyed them.
Sandie
Penned (Poetry) - 7/30/2022 9:40:32 AM
I do find myself rapt by your expressions of love!
