My first wife was not so fortunate.
She left this earth many years from cancer.
I wrote a story about her in my website "A slice of A Short Life."

Oh my gosh... this one fit me word for word!!!! I bet it does the same for lots of us...and we were living in a veiled world believing that we truly have male friends who are simply platonic ones.... Wow.. I have very few women friends.. but have handfuls of male friends... good ones...We talk, we laugh, we tell each other everything (I thought) and...I trust them!!! As I read your piece I realized that what your friend said to you was true for me too... Not a single one has "never" hit on me, or asked me on dates, or told me he cared or loved me, etc.... yet, I thought once I told them I cared about them but only as a valued friend, and they agreed that they felt the same about me... so I believed them!!!! You are right tho... when I speak of my reconciliation with my hubby they always "caution" me or let me know that "it may not work".... or they always try to squash other dates.... boy was I dumb!!! but...I still want to keep my friends...don't you??? lindalaw
