Thank you for your wonderful travelogue of your visit to wildlife parks in Nepal. As you noted, these precious places need to be guarded and preserved before the last wild tiger is gone along with the rhino because of selfish practices or the hunger of the masses. I too, have experienced the thrill of seeing wildlife and wild places. I always find it enchanting.
I once spent a wonderful four days in Dhaka, Bangladesh. This was long ago in 1978. My host, eager to please me, drove me 100 miles out of the city to the “jungle.” In my host's youth, this place was teeming with wildlife, including tigers. Unfortunately, when we got there (it was the dry season), there was very little vegetation and even the thought of tigers seemed like an ancient dream. He was very disappointed. As we returned to the city I was amazed by the thousands of boats with white sails plying the Ganges without a sound. But when we got to my host's favorite place to buy fish, there weren't any. Once again he was very disappointed. I'm sure, that the river is now filled with noisy motorboats, fish are very scarce, and the idea of a jungle only exists in the Sundarbans where the few remaining tigers still catch wood cutters and fishermen by surprise like they did in the papers when I was there.
