Interesting! I know a few people that have had such power in their careers that they don't even know how to carry on a conversation, the give and take of it. I wish they knew just a little of the "art" of small talk. It would be so much easier being in their company. Sorry, got me going there! Fine poem, enjoyed it. Linda

Semi-conscious musings indeed! *produces whip and cracks it nearby* (insert sound effect here) "You lie, you lie, you lie!" This homage to pretense is too profound to be semi-conscious, and the couplet at the end a fine example of language at its best.

It has taken me some time to ponder my response to Pondering Time... The interweaving of the variety of images - some more strongly evocative than others - creates a work that is clearly one of a mind rich in the art of the written word. Alas, in my very humble and practically worthless opinion, the stanza of gullible fishes does not compliment what precedes and follows. Longer is not always better, my friend, although there might be some who would argue. All in all, a good, cohesive read.
