An illuminating discussion of the hidden cycles controlling the stock market with practical profiting applications for the average investor. Simple graphics let the reader understand the seasons of the market and the timing of investments. The author uses celestial mechanics formulae to show a correlation between astronomical positions of the large outer planets and the Dow Jones Industrial Average over the last century. The results are based on scientific astronomy. This book has nothing to do with astrology (a pseudoscience). There is no mention of horoscopes, aspects, or the zodiacal signs. It is very helpful for people like me thinking about investing in the stock market. It provides a simple, short, presentation of the basics of investing, portfolio design, and management. It gives sound advice and innovative techniques to avoid the pitfalls of the market swings, and particularly how to overcome the two extreme emotions of investors: greed and fear. I highly recommend it.

Using planetary cycles to predict stock market cycles sounds like astrology to me.

Thank you for your heartfelt affirmation that the United States owes a great deal to immigrants like you and your wife. Throughout the history of the United States, immigrants have always done the heavy lifting at the lowest rungs of income and still created some of the most vibrant and "American" businesses as well as provided the brainpower for advances in science and technology that makes the United States a beacon for the world.
I was born in this country, but when I went to graduate school in engineering in 1966, I was surprised to see that those of us from the United States in the department were outnumbered 2 to 25. From that point onward, immigrants became an integral part of my higher education career as friends and colleagues. It has been my experience that immigrants, regardless of their status upon arriving, within one generation, achieve a standard of living higher than most Americans. The reason is sacrifice and drive. Many come to the United States at great sacrifice, but have a drive to succeed that outshines native citizens in every respect.
The President-elect should read your article and be aware that without immigrants, the United States would've declined into mediocrity and old world thinking decades ago. In the eyes of the world the United States does not need to be made "great again." You have exemplified the world view of the United States in your story.

Everyone should have a quiet simple place that they can go to and unwind, relax and just enjoy the scenery. I've had those places and have made my backyard something I can relax just watching. Not everyone can afford to travel like you have or spend vacations in places like the Outer Banks and Emerald Isle.
Our parents bought a small lot and cottage on a small flowage in north-central Wisconsin as a weekend retreat back in the 1960s. Eventually, they retired there and spent the winters in McAllen, Texas as "snowbirds." I always enjoyed the few times I was able to go there because it gave me the same kind of feeling that you get from Emerald Isle with all of the wildlife and peace and tranquility the place offered, along with friendly and helpful people. Unfortunately, eventually, my father could no longer keep up with maintenance and they sold the place. Our family has not had a central place where we can get together since. We all miss it.
May you and your family have many more years in your own little paradise.
