 Carousel Kisses (Book) - 7/15/2010 10:53:37 AM
I love this book. You will feel your heart open with fondness as Ms. Rehal's stories take you back to Howdy Doody, lemonade stands, amusement parks, summer and family memories. After reading Carousel Kisses, you'll feel refreshed and remember how the world was magic back then.
When A Cherry Coke Cost A Dime (Short Story) - 3/23/2008 3:40:21 PM
I really enjoyed this essay, Lina. Though I don't remember the days of soda fountains, I always love reading about simpler times in our history. You painted a beautiful picture, and I thank you! Jean

OOOOH Lina, I remember those cherry cokes. YUM! That was the day when cokes were refreshing. Thank you for sharing and letting us remember the day. I remember the vegtable wagon that use to come to the houses to,those fresh veggies and you could even afford to but them. Thanks for sharing. Patricia

Girlfriends (Poetry) - 6/6/2008 4:45:13 PM
I enjoyed this poem, Lina. Brought back so many memories of my old friends, and you're right, even though years may pass, with a good friend it's like no time at all :)

The Rose (Poetry) - 3/24/2008 2:38:25 PM
What a lovely poem, a beautiful expression of a woman's sentimentality. Pressing flowers from events she never wanted to forget. I've done the same thing myself.

The Rose (Poetry) - 3/24/2008 2:25:29 AM
yeah... i was talking to my new flatmate only last night about the roses that hang in the top corner of her bedroom. the room she is in used to be mine when i was a teenager and i hung my roses high on the wall coz i guess thats what youre sposed to do. my flatmate was asking me who they were from and why they were so special that id kept them and you know... there are 5 roses up there and i can only remember recieving one of them... how bizarre. i never usually find roses in my books... i find all kinds of other things... random post-it notes and doodles but never flowers... maybe i need toread different books hehe. very beautiful piece.

...to appreciate the moments...and remember how much they mean now...give so much worth...to the moments yet come. Your wise poetic thoughts remind us of their importance... thank you Lina... John

The Rose (Poetry) - 3/23/2008 3:57:37 PM
So often, I have pressed flowers in books for certain events, only to find them.... years later.... unable to remember their purpose. I've begun pressing them with little pieces of paper, reminding me of the occasion why I kept them. Maybe years from now, I'll remember. Nice poem, Lina, and welcome to Author's Den. Jill

The Rose (Poetry) - 3/23/2008 3:27:20 PM
...in a book not forgotten...a forgotten rose...yet remains...perhaps remembrance of a crush...unlike crumbled...when it was first given...and though withered...becomes a marker in a book of her. this is beautiful sentiment Lina... John

Beautiful descriptions here. I think you'd like Frank Whyte, who is also an AD member. Check out some of his older poems, and you'll see what I mean. I like the way your images blend into emotions, creating an aura. --Charlie
