Bring Back Summer Youth Jobs and After School Programs (Article) - 5/3/2008 6:17:46 AM
I agree with you about the summer jobs and after school programs. I am located in the West Indies where crime is much worse than how it was when I was growing up and decipline is not the same either. Parents have to work twice as hard to support themselves and their children and there are alot fo single parent homes in the Caribbean now. Having these after school programs will help kids off the streets and in the books or extra cirricular activies that will motivate them to become better young adults and older ones.. the Summer jobs will help to teach them about responsibility and hopefully with the help of their parents and wider society; they will become functionable and productive members within society. Thank you for your "piece" on this issue and i hope that it will be addressed in both societies..
