Hi Martha,I enjoy reading this poem and this poem sort of reminds me of a story that I heard on CNN back in the summer of this year.In Hartford,CT,a guy by the name of Angel Torres who is 76 years old got hit by a car.He lay down in the side of the street and no one came to his aid.There were several cars that passed by them and didn't even stop to see if he was alright.Also passerbys just stand there and look at the guy as if he was a piece of meat.Then a patrol car saw the man laying there and help him out.Luckily he is doing alright,but the lack of humanity in the country is disgusting and appalling.Angel or that guy you helped could be old enough to be someone's great grandfather or grandfather and the audacity of people not even helping them or care if they are ok makes me sick.I wish some people that didn't help those old guys would be arrested and charged for impersonating a human being.I know that is harsh but there is no reason whatsoever for someone to at least not help them up.Trust me when I say this,but if anyone of those people that didn't help those guys out and if they were in the same position as they were no matter what age they are,they would want someone to help them out.Or if it was their own grandmother or grandfather,then they would want someone to help them out too.
I commend you for helping this old man.I wish everybody in this world would be as more gracious,helpful and thoughtful as you are.Take good care of yourself

This is a very touching poem and so sad. Sometimes we tend to forget our elderly who need our help.

You were very kind to have done that. It's a shame that most would not care to help an old man. If he were a young lady who fell down on the ground, I bet you there would be many who ran forward to help.
