A Knights Tale Remastered (Poetry) - 5/6/2022 1:13:31 PM
At six I picked up candy from a fake Santa Claus in our little town mayor's office front porch. I didn't believe in the fantasy then or in any fantasy since, but I always took from these fantasies whatever goodies were in store. Like the tooth fairy's money under my pillow. The Easter Bunny's decorated eggs, chocolate and candy when I decorated the eggs with mom. And Santa Claus's gifts from mom and dad.
The devil never gave me anything because he didn't exist.

Valentines Day (Poetry) - 2/15/2022 7:34:32 PM
Bonjour Damien Rojob Khan ! Once again you have conferred upon me the great honour of having to comment on one of your poems. Might I say I'm at a loss to understand why you single me out from the innumerable wise men of the DEN. If you checked the hit statistics, my poems are the least read on this site (less reviews than posts) and the most maligned to boot. Be that as it may, i'm not insensitive to your request, and so will say what comes to mind even if it were irrelevant.
For one thing, you do not wish to conform to previous admonitions from the manner in which you sprinkle your lines with CAPITALS (I wonder why?), for another you are always carping about the loss of enormous sums in poems about other considerations. Not that this is forbidden in poetry but that you don't clearly make a case out for this outcry. Yet, quite frankly, I may be abysmally wrong here for judging by what passes for poetry on the NET, anything is permissible: in other words, one can flush the toilet of one's mind, soul and heart and get congratulated for the end-product - again judging by the commentaries by other "tonitruant" poets, of course!!!
Apart from re-writing your poem in lisible form and style, I don't see how my comments could serve to guide you in your desire to flourish as a gloriously accepted inner-circle DEN-Poet, a genre of a very special teint, indeed!!
As for the billions of £s you spent or lost, let me confide in you that I knew someone (a former Oxford "Blue') who didn't even spend a penny to get a KCMG (Knight Commander of the British Empire). I'm not trying to pull your leg here. Really true!
Your willingness to include a "Mother-Mary" painting here with the poem on Valentine-love is more than enough to win you a front seat in this patently Holy site. I wouldn't advise you to add any other decoration to your poems from no won. What else can I say?
You see I'm not the best person to be invited to make comments on yours or anybody else's poems.
Every good wish. No offence meant. Wignesan

Army Of Singers (Poetry) - 2/14/2022 4:12:05 PM
Plethora of complexity here. You’ve covered a host of actions and these lines are packed with imagery, history, sizzling combinations, I’ll say. My favorite line is: “Front To Backward He Can Write A Billion Verses.” ~~ djl
Freedom is Comming (Poetry) - 1/10/2022 2:32:26 PM
It is not unusual to think that we are ALREADY living under a dome. Many believe this world has already been reconstructed many times in the past. We are only humans whom we think we are, but there is no one else to validate our existence. Like the roaches and the ants, we can validate their existence that they do exist on this planet, but who is the one who can validate OUR existence?
We exist only through our own imagination that we do exist. Or, perhaps, we are all characters in a large computer system that is keeping us under a dome. There is a larger-than-life individual or thing that we have not seen, but it is keeping us here on earth. God is who we believe to be God, and Satan is only created by men to keep the evil people.

Mother Earth Poetry (Poetry) - 12/23/2021 11:34:20 AM
Coronavirus, and all of its forms, offered up by mother Earth, certainly has topped many other of our problems, unsolved as of yet. Perhaps we will learn a lesson from how we tackle this one when dealing with the others leading to apocalypse.
Your poem certainly covers the gauntlet we have been running through without much chance of curing.

3rd Day Poetry (Poetry) - 12/4/2021 10:35:06 AM
You are a very strong person and you are very tolerant of the ignorant people in your life. You sound like a person who has gone through a lot and still come out just as strong!
It's not how we live our lives, it's how we kick away the obstacles, how we feel, how we can make of it with what God has gifted to us. You are doing well.
There are many good lines in this poem. I enjoyed this!

7 Knight Poetry by Damien Rojob (Poetry) - 12/2/2021 2:48:39 PM
Hello Damien! Thanks very much for asking me to comment on this poem. Not that I'm any great shakes at commenting or critiqueing poetry, but I'll give it a try, but first I would suggest you follow John Domino's advice generously proffered on your poem: "The Crossing". JM mentions the use of far too many capitals, for instance.
I don't know how others appear to follow you in your train of thought, since there's a serious drawback in enunciation and layout on your part. The following remarks apply to the poems of yours I read recently:
1. Your use of pronouns is a mix-up alright.
2. Singular and plural and the possesive case adds to the obfuscation.
3. The persona of the poem is often a torture to extract.
4. You start off on one leg and lose your way soon enough.
5. Relating personal experiences is not necessarily the best way to choose a subject matter for poetry. In fact, autobiographical accounts degenerate into nombrilism and hardly serve to elucudate your propositions, though occasionally - if well written - can make for worthwhile reading.
Your first stanza in this poem could be re-written as follows:
"December 1979
Santa Clause from the North Pole [no need for commas]
Flew across Great Britain.
It snowed for many years.
The Heavens shed tears.
Daman was only six,
Wasn't anything he was afraid of
Nor anything he couldn't fix,
He Was playing with Snakes & Sheep's at age three," ["Sheep" is plural unless you mean something like "Snakes and Ladders", then why the apostrophe?]...
I think you get the general idea. First and foremost, it's a question of grammar.
Every good wish. It's a great honour to be asked to comment. Thank ypiu very much. Wignesan
Second Chance (Poetry) - 12/1/2021 11:44:03 AM
Wow, this one is deep. I have to read it again, Damien. I too have experienced death and coming back. I enjoyed the poem and it made me think about those who abuse and try to dispose of others, it will be to their detriment. Unique and challenging.
Second Chance (Poetry) - 12/1/2021 12:31:14 AM
Do not go gentle into that good night
Rage rage against the dying of the light.
Second Chance (Poetry) - 11/30/2021 11:26:29 PM
The first stanza was spiritual.
However in the second stanza, you talked about waking up in an incinerator again (much like your previous poem "Crossing". Perhaps, could the incinerator be a metaphorical thing that burns your heart?
The third stanza is about revival and survival. Well, at least, I saw it that way anyway.
Thank you for sharing!

Ink'd To The Skin (Poetry) - 11/28/2021 8:27:54 PM
I find this writing more significant than tattoos themselves. There is much experience wound into these lines of poetry. It deserves reads through to feel the importance of ‘tattoo’ being given here. Very effective these last three lines in conveying something very, very significant and personal. I hear sadness and bravery both in these lines. I liked these two especially: “ The Money Was Going To The Cities Innocent Victim's,/So I Never Had A Doubt,” A thorough treatment to the ‘tattoo,’ this. ~~ djl

Dear Damien,
First of all, "Happy Thanksgiving" as we have so much to be thankful for...
Great poetic expression! However, there seems to be at three poems here. This is an easy fix and that will defitely help. The other distraction is the use of capitals. I suggest you read and review the poems slowly and have a friend help as well. But please don't get discouraged. Your contribution is greatly appreciated. Amen
Blessings,
John Michael

Your imagery is great, and it flows with mystic imagery. It is true - "It's True Your Kid's Are Our Future."

Bless you poet, may you keep enlightened, and reach Nirvana.

The Philosophy of the Tattoo, interesting, I enjoyed this, Pierre.
Ink'd To The Skin (Poetry) - 11/21/2021 9:51:03 AM
Tattoos appear to have been common among ancient people. The Iceman of the Alps, a nomad queen from central Russia and mummified remains found in the Andes, all had tattoos. The conclusion so far is that they were primarily signals to the gods to stop bodily pains caused often by malnourishment, arthritis and other diseases and injuries that would cause a need for some medicine like treating pain with pain.
Personally, I find tattoos to be something that people do in order to be included by the groups they associate with. Generally without enough self-esteem to resist bodily disfigurement in order to identify with, ranging from some secret order to simply prove that they can take the pain of disfigurement to their buddies.
Interestingly, many people regret the tattoos that they have, and it's a big business removing them.
Personally, I am at ease with my body even though my hands and arms are shriveled by paralysis. I do not need any enhancements like jewelry, tattoos or even plastic surgery to make me feel better and improve my self-esteem.

Promised Land (Poetry) - 11/18/2021 12:45:20 PM
I think the meter or rhythm could be improved upon, in line number 1 and Six, in line 7 and each line in meter, will be perfect in every way, in my opinion! Specifically, making those lines shorter preferably two lines out of each line! Lines 1 - 6-7.
As far as thoughts and imagination, and imagery is
concerned, you took me to the universe and back! Human nature on display worldwide! Discovering it is more that binds us than separate us! Kipling said it best, I quote”
Walk among kings and keep to common touch”, we will be where we need to be daily. Thank you for such an inspirational piece of poetry, artwork, and love!
Promised Land (Poetry) - 11/18/2021 12:10:27 PM
The Promised Land or the Land of The Big Apple is not much to look at now. I wonder why people would still fight to be in it. I am so glad I chose Canada when I exited Hong Kong.
I think this world is now back to its primitive stage for survival technique where primal instincts lead its inhabitants. Only the strong (physique and healthwise) ones will survive!

Fate Poem (Poetry) - 11/10/2021 9:18:52 AM
When we have defeated accidental death, bad health, pestilence and war, we will grow like rabbits with no predators to keep our growth in check.
We will then be free to drive our off-road vehicles over every last blade of grass to go see our cesspool of oceans. Won't that be nice?
Ron
Fate Poem (Poetry) - 11/10/2021 12:47:21 AM
Wow, Tom!!! You amazed me!!! You really have digested this poem within a SPEEDY TIME FRAME!!! Your explanation of this poem has helped me to understand it better!
Yes, I agree this poem is about fate, but as often as I see it most people would blame their failures and call it Fate or Destiny. That's how most people conduct themselves.
When they succeed they never give credits to God, they would call it luck, or the opportunity presents itself, but when they fail they would blame God for giving them such fate and destiny.
People need to work, and work hard if they want to be successful. Not all rich folks are born rich. Some work their way up from scratch. Fate has nothing to do with it. When you want something you work for it.
Sandie
Fate Poem (Poetry) - 11/9/2021 7:25:32 PM
Damien, in your work I read the fate of each of us. I read the things we can control and fail to do. I read those things we didn't do or cannot do Fate provides us with opportunities we failed to take. fate illustrates that the nature of mankind is responsible for the loss of many lives due to self worship and the mistaken belief we have to be top dog. it also reads that each man must reach within himself for understanding and success, release his talents for the betterment of man kind. I read in this poem that you believe in God that gave you life. I'd say it's a deep study of comparison between what you think of yourself and reality -a very interesting and deeply thoughtful work

We all have our reason's for for the style that we write in....
Some of us have a style that everyone will remember...
Others have a style of writing that everyone would just
rather forget....
But most of all....Whatever we write will be forever documented
for everyone to see and read.

Married To Work (Poetry) - 11/4/2021 11:57:31 PM
Too much thinking sometimes complicates one's life. I'll just take life as it is presented to me. Go with the flow if I have to. No one is supposed to think life is a bowl of cherries. Sometimes we regret and sometimes we don't. There's no need to beat oneself over spilt milk. Just make use of what is gifted to you from God and make the best of it in life.

Married To Work (Poetry) - 11/4/2021 9:38:21 AM
Your poem contains some rich symbolism. "Cuddling Up in Bed Sheets in Chilling Cold Winter Breeze, Swimming Between Oceans & Sea Waves in Summer Heat's, Singing Love Songs To Heat Up The Magic In The Eye," You seem to drift between living a life based on your true soul getting lost in the beauty such as a life with Love and as you say Duty. Duty as a reflection of the needs of the world around you. Yet rather then finding a meeting place between both as do most men at least try to, you seem to imply the building the soul only exists after death. Kind of a sad view of man's ability to rise above. But in truth you show well the inner battle most men & women often face in trying to live an honorable life. Your poem works, unfortunately it gives no hint of something more in life. Well written. jude

Married To Work (Poetry) - 11/3/2021 7:42:37 PM
Every individual, man or woman, should be able to determine their life's path and with that what honor and duty means to fulfill that chosen path.
Choosing to protect one's nation and perhaps opting for a duty to a military path is definitely a choice that many men and women make. Having come from a long time military family, I know that being wounded or sacrificing one's life must be faced as a reality. Do I believe that choice qualifies as being more responsible or honorable than choosing to marry ... no I do not.
Your style of writing is unique and your thought process intriguing, and you have proposed several interesting opinions.
Take care ...
Married To Work (Poetry) - 11/3/2021 7:27:50 PM
Every one has choices to make in life . We each have a road to follow whether it is the high road or in the depths of gravel.
Loving some one with honor and dignity is better than transgressing and giving in to human fralities. If a man sets his standards high, he will succeed and gravitate to new heights.

RAJOB, I LIKE THE SENTIMENTS EXPRESSED IN THIS WORK AND IT DOES FORM A PICURE FOR THE READER. I'M NOT MUCH ON CRITIQUE OF POEMS, BUT I LOOK AT RYTHEM AND RHYME ALMOST LIKE SINGING A SONG WHICH IS TRUE POETRY . I've WRITTEN A LOT OF POETRY TO BRING HUMOR TO THE READER. OCCASIONALLY I'LL GET SERIOUS AND PUT SOMETHING TOGETHER WITH A LOTTA FEELING. SOMETIMES I HAVE TO WRITE SOMETHING ALMOST BACKWARDS TO GET THE METERING AND RHYME THAT I NEED. EXPRESSING YOUR THOUGHTS IN WORDS CAN BE A COMBINATION OF PROSE AND POETRY. I THINK HALLMARKS OF A POET IS THAT COMBINATION AND WELL EXPRESSED.

A Hero Of Necessity (Poetry) - 10/28/2021 1:59:09 PM
Was he really a hero? Did he choose wisley in the choices he had to make? How can one be sure? The poem is filled decisions and indecisions. Its depths are so deep. I have aproblem reacing the bottom of it. The wealthy, once again invade the land of the ravaged poor, making unjust decisions. Where space is a factor,it makes me think of the Et'S , ALIENS, who are near by watching as earthlings slowly self destruct! Will they become a part of earth as they once were thousands of years ago. TIME WILL TELL!!!

I feel religion offers hope and salvation to those who accept and need it. God is a huge part of my life and has helped me through turmiol and strife.
Man kind has some how fought and survived through the unending cashams of time I am not sure about reicarnation . I believe in it in a way , but still am uncertain. I believe that our lives are written in the book of time and what happens is a part of our existance.
You writings are very deep and offers various ways to receive the message you have writtn. We are all idividuals and do preceive things in our own unique way.
Autumn Breeze (Poetry) - 10/27/2021 2:18:54 PM
This a deep and interesting write. I feel what you are describing is a part of the world we live in today.(Lord help US). THE TIMES AND TEMPERMENT OF EVERY THING HAS DRASTICALLY CHANGED. It is a scarey situation . I am not sure if the multitudes preceive what is actually happening. WEALTH and power go hand in hand , dragging the masses down in to the chaos of our unruly, inept gonernment and world. The cold winds blow, bringing distruction and devastation with them. I fear for the future of man kind! BLESSINGS TO YOU!

Certainly a parable where a mighty forest might rise again from a major forest fire that brought it to ashes. We can also attribute it to the rise to fame from those oppressed.
