I chanced onto your book entry this morning and discovered instead that it's a story about your 2016 Halloween visits to Alien Con and Zombie Crawl. As a science fiction writer, I love creative science fiction, but find some of the franchises like UFOs, zombies and ancient aliens to be merely commercial ripoffs of young people with boring lives and disposable cash. I watch Walking Dead primarily because of the human conflict resulting from a dystopic society rather than the now, rather mundane constant re-killing of endless supplies of dead people that are now, somehow still very active and stupidly voraciously hungry for human flesh.
But with much of society following PT Barnum as president I can see the appeal of pseudoscientific conspiracy theories involving UFOs, ancient aliens, transformers, Godzillas and superheroes from comic books rather than scientific articles. Real science is too hard for the average zombie student to follow.
You seem to be interested in SETI. So am I and had my computer analyzing data for them for a few years until the platform changed. In my two novels, The Kaleidoscope Effect and Alone?, I point out the simple futility of such an endeavor. However, the effort does further science and I believe that is okay. Much better than spending scientific money on trying to find Bigfoot.
Like you, I was able to attend two years of 200 Year Starship here in Houston and got to meet Dr. Jill Tarter, former executive director of SETI, co-author with Carl Sagan of Contact, and the model of the young woman scientist in the movie/book. I gave her my novels and she told that they were, "Good." We didn't have time to discuss my concern about the futility of searching for extraterrestrials by looking for their signature intelligent waveforms.
Amtrak must be an interesting way to travel in California these days. I traveled from Morgantown, West Virginia to Union Station in Washington DC for Transpo 73 and returned, right past the Mother's Day church in Grafton. The grimy cars had little or no service and were quite stuffy. But we got to take a tour of the throbbing diesel engine up close and personal and see the engineers lounging with their feet up on the 1950s dashboard with very little instrumentation. The train literally crawled along at about 5 mph trying to make the climb over the Appalachian Ridge and the tunnels carved out of bedrock were very interesting.

Pretty straightforward science-fake lore. This time the rise of the Australia animalsl in defense of aboriginal culture. Damn Christians! Ruined everything. Why don't those little "greys" just come out of the woodwork and fix everything? Sissies!

I don't really understand why this was mixed together in terms of different franchises in one work of fiction. Yeah I normally don't review fan fiction on AuthorsDen.com but the one other author who did fan fiction before she did her anthology appearance is Joni Latham. Yeah this was an interesting story to say the least, but I would like to see something from you that is highly original.
