Too many sad endings amongst relationships today- know they were in past, but not as many - if people could only talk it out more, and relate more, and realize the otherside isn't always the best, than maybe the world relationships would survive turmoil.

Wow, I cannot read this poem without wonder what goes wrong in a long term relationship. Seems to me that one side or the other stops talking or listening.
If I had to leave my wife of 44 years, I might as well crawl into a pine box and disintegrate.

Hello James,
Painful and precise like a scalpel. This is a well written poem and the style helps to "cut deep" into the heart. Sometimes a relationship (like cancer) needs surgical cutting to usher in a new refreshing one, or to make a "healing process" restore the heart.

Heartfelt and sad write. The end of a relationship is always heartbreaking, sometimes for the best, sometimes not. If not, I hope you two find your way back to each other!
