I just read in Proverbs 3:32 "His (God's) secret counsel is with the upright." Not only does God know the way that I take, but He is willing to discuss it with me if I choose to live uprightly.
You are right, ABC, God has the final say.

Dear Adewole,
I respect your faith and I believe in your God. It is not God who has failed, but the human race. We can deny His existence and His love,but that does not make it any less real. Once you have experienced His love and you KNOW that he is alive in your life and experience, you can't UN-know it, no matter what anyone says, no matter what happens in the world around you. It is like learning to read, you can deny that the alphabet means anything before you learn to arrange random letters into words, but once you learn to read--you cannot "unlearn." You can look away--become blinded to the text--but you will always know that those funny looking characters mean something. When you pick up a book and look at the pages, you will see words, you will understand the meaning. Those who do not know God do not know how to "Read" spiritually. The letters do not make sense to them. They may be wonderful, intelligent, compassionate people, in fact many of them are (and I include those who respond to you work with courteous disagreement such as Malcolm Watts in this statement)but they don't believe because they have not learned to "read" by faith. Please keep writing and post excepts, etc. on Authors Den. I, for one, would love to read your postings.

Relgion has had thousands of years and has been no better than politics or anything else at solving the problems of world. Indeed, relgion has been the cause of great wars and much misery. God likely doesn't exist - think about it. The idea of God may be appealing but it is simply not realistic. If God existed he would have intervened to help the children screaming as they were being led to the gas chambers at Treblinka. He did not so either he doesn't exist or just doesn't care. As for the bible, if it were "God's word" we would have had an update from him by now don't you think? I suffered through the brainwashing of evangelical Christianity while growing up so please don't advise me to study Bible - done that. Christopher Hitchens is correct, Relgion poisons everything. Islamic fundamentalism is a a threat to western civilization and even our survival if, maybe when, they get their hands on the nuclear arsenal of Pakistan. It is time for mankind to forget God and religion and learn to use universal human rights, and common sense and kindness and justice as the ethical guidelines to run the world. None of these require God or relgion. Respectfully, Malcolm Watts
