I love the plot line of this story, from the evil spirit chasing him at the start, to his ignorance of his culture in the end, this winding tale shows just how important heritage truly can be. The scene where he’s walking and the demon is advancing on him is pictured perfectly, and leaves little to detail. The indian tribesman telling him about his family and father is also very intriguing, overall great story!

Phenomenal! This captures the fear of the dark that even the bravest soldier surely has, everyone has their own fear of the dark and this describes the feeling every single individual gets. No complaints whatsoever here.

I love the descriptive detail, but by the end of the poem if I hadn’t read the title, I would have been confused as to what the topic was mainly referring to. Time can be torturing, and this poem captured the feeing that it gives some of us. In the second sentence, add ‘as still as time’ to perfect the wording of that sentence.

This poem is excellent, in every way it fits in the exact mood it’s attempting to depict.
Based off of all the descriptive adjectives in this poem, some may have a tiny bit of difficulty following, but a skilled readers would have an excellent time reading this. There’s a strong feeling of empathy for the character by the end of the poem.

These lines depicted an intense and dark vision of death in quite a captivating way. This would be an excellent start to a short novel or short story, and could lead to a perfect description of a villian. To live without a soul, death would indeed be preferred. Overall great piece!

I love how you worded the intense battle against the Grim Reaper, the one thing that bothered me is when I read through this, was the ‘lonesome’ part in the first sentence. I feel as though maybe you could have added a sentence supporting that part of your battle. Other than that, it was perfect, it appealed to my hopeful emotions at the end of the poem. There was amazing descriptive imagery, and left little to imagination.

I was afraid of the dark growing up. But to certain extend have n't gotten over it, to a certain extent. But i dare you to sleep in a dark room with a dead body. lol. I like the way you explained.

How dark is dark? How black is black is black? The amplification of this poem, how bizarre, throws light on a dream image, very Jungian. Perhaps Darkness is a tool we use to protect ourselves although there is no rule-of-thumb interpretation. I am also interpreting this poem as Dark Magick that perhaps has gone cold, leaving it even darker. This is a real mind-bender. Thought-provoking write, Pamela.
