I visited Grand Bahama once and found that while the local people gladly drove their cars down to the ship to take us to our hotels for a big tip and were so friendly and helpful. But everywhere we drove, I saw abject poverty blighting an otherwise tropical paradise. Surely the legacy of the white man who originally brought blacks to the island to be slaves, cut down the jungle and ruin the soil with over farming and no replenishing.
But we found the Princes Hotel gambling casino bustling with those eager to wage their lifesavings on the next possible big win that never comes. And later, we found a little bar where there were a group of big star imitators like Michael Jackson and more were very good but had a very small audience to help pay for their night of hard work and talent.

Very good advice. My concern is the growing trend for making the wedding such a focal point and spending so much on it. The bride wants to be a princess and treated like one with a very expensive dress, entourage, venue and entertainment. The expense of these weddings immediately puts a financial strain on the new marriage with obligation and money management problems from the very start. A diamond ring does not make a marriage nor a gold band. What makes a marriage is a good working relationship that benefits both.
These princesses with expensive weddings are really very selfish. That does not mean that men who hang with their old bachelor bodies and ignore their wives are any better. It's just that when one or both parties wants to have their way rather than come together on what's best for both of them, the marriage will fail.

My partner would just unmercifully smash him. God must get all tangled up in endless detail if he's cutting fly cords. If he'd just wait a week or so that fly would die of natural causes and having had the sex it needed to finish its business and lay eggs.
But the cliché, a fly on the wall, is now easily accomplished by a cheap, infinitesimally small camera with a microphone to pick up sound in living color. Big brother is here so we can watch and listen in on very private doings at will. Isn't that fun? ;-)

Forgive me, but I sense that you have thrown off religious practice in favor of your own thoughts about your relationship with God.
Throughout my life I've had great freedom by becoming an atheistic existentialist. You are so right. I see so much hypocritical thinking among people who claim to be Christians, acting in a way that is so unlike Jesus. There's a big difference between being politically correct and empathetic. Some people don't seem to know the difference.

Such a legacy has been left to follow in this realm. Whilst Susan enjoys being away from the body and present with the Lord in the twinkling of an eye. Listen in places unexpected and you'll here her in all manner of things in the communion of the saints. I still feel dads weighty presence and tender, manly love. LOL even if I'm gardening I'm sure I sense his nudge ton stop using the wrong tool and go buy the correct tool for the job at hand. Eternity is captured in such love.

Thank you, Ronald Hull for your comments respectively, there is such a thing as sin, Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Many times it is not only the sin or sins one can see, it can be disobedience to God, in simply not doing what He told you to do or going where He sent you....it is not always bad behaviour for all unrighteousness is sin. The truth is you write about the truth and love of Jesus. That is the news I want to hear! I have NEVER been to a bad Bible study but I been to lots of bad fast-food joints and boring, wasteful, not so truthful meetings. When we read Red letters it is prime information and we should reserve our time with Jesus during our Prime time! Amen

Dear Margaret,
This poem speaks volumes to me. My faith is stronger with each passing day. When I am within Him I know I am going the right way. It is because when I am with Him I am at peace, I am still and don't want to roam. So I cannot stray too far because with my Father in Heaven I am at my very best and I know that I am right at home.
