Believing the voice of God

Have you ever had a prophetic word spoken over your life and been so thrilled at the prospect of the outcome only to find years later nothing is happening in this area? After mulling over past prophetic words and the expectations that I have had, I came to realize that it is really important that we do not let these words disappear, as if they were never spoken. In our day to day lives, if someone close to you told you that they were going to take you to dinner at a really expensive restaurant in a few months, you would tend to believe them. If six months past by and you had not gone, you would wonder why and maybe even ask them about it. Then why in our relationship with God do we not ask when much more important and bigger things are spoken over our life by the prophetic voice, or directly to us by God. When we feel the prophetic voice has let us down, let's look at what we can do. Let's think of the effect of handling the prophetic in a bad way first.
