Weeping Tree (chapter 3)Thank you Paula Bray ,for helping me on my story !)

King Moseck set out on his journey to meet his brother. He had prayed that his brother would have a change of heart by now. He rode through the valleys with all his devoted army. His scouts had rode ahead to check for enemies along the way.
Evening came and the warriors made camp within the Lockey forest. It was just on the other side of the river where his brother, King Sagus, waited for him.
"Your majesty, the armies of your brother awaits us beyond the river at the Bloodless Mountain," said one of his faithful scouts.
"Keep watch while we prepare ourselves," replied the King. The king gathered his men together.
"My faithful men of arms. As you know this war is not only about two brothers who are as different as night and day. More importantly it is a battle between good and evil! I have tried to prepare myself this past year for going to battle with my own flesh and blood has haunted me daily. I have no choice now for he is angry and insists on this evil path. We must prevail at all cost! God be with us all."
They all knelt on the ground where they stood. They prayed to God for guidance in His will. They understood this was to be a war that would determine their future. As the men stood there was a peace and resolve in every face.
The night grew long as they camped quietly and took turns resting. The men slept dressed for battle with shields and swords by their side. The scouts sat watching for anything that moved. The forest grew dark and quiet. The only sounds they heard was of the critters and of the camp across the river.
One of Sagus' soldiers was scouting the other side of the river and saw the camp of King Moseck. He crept back to report the location to King Sagus. he had so much evil in his heart he immediately plotted to ambush his brother.
"Take the men and quietly surround the camp. We attack at first light! I will be rid of my brother and rule over all!" he sneered.
The night ended with the morning sun in the west, peeking over the hill. Suddenly out of nowhere there was a cry from a soldier, then another!
"King Moseck, we're being attacked!" a scout yelled. Quickly swords were drawn in battle and the deadly fighting began. Blood stained the ground from men as they died by the swords. The men were fighting bravely but the ambush had cost them more than they knew. King Moseck fell to the ground, gasping for air, as a knife plunged into his heart by none other than his brother.
"My brother, I forgive your deed," he cried with his dying breath.
Sagus showed no mercy as he pulled the knife out. As he turned one of Moseck's soldiers, when he saw his king felled, gave a great cry and rushed at King Sagus. As the sword plunged through his belly, Sagus fell dead beside his brother. Both Kings in one night died unmercifully and in vain.
So ending the war of the Kings as the enemy who survived fled. King Moseck's army, which were left but a few, stood beside their king and wept over the loss. The king's guard removed the king's ring and left to take the ring to the queen to deliver the sad news that the king was dead. The rest of the army followed with their dead and wounded.
The queen sat silently on her bed waiting as Sir Antony came in with the news.
"I'm sorry, my queen," he stated as he handed her the ring from her dead husband's hand. She gazed at it and knew that he was gone. It was a sad day for the queen and the kingdom.
