The Blind Date
Lisa decided to take up the suggestion and go on a double date with her good friends Marsha and George. Putting it off was not going to change the fact that there really was no excuse for her to stay home by herself again. She had known Marsha and George for 7 years, in which they would often ask her to go on a blind date.
Most of the time things went well that first evening, but being a picky individual she rarely went on a second date, or a third. Time was running out and she wasn't getting any younger so she decided once again to accept the invitation. Guess she made an impression on Jerry. He was a gentleman from the start. It was his idea to meet the three of them at the restaurant. Lisa saw him sitting at a table that he reserved near a baby grand piano. Upon approaching the table Jerry stood up and pulled out a chair for Lisa after introducing himself again. They all laughed about that! Dinner was accompanied with plenty of conversation and that Lisa found that she did a lot of talking as well as Jerry. Marsha and George it seemed rarely spoke. The meal ended after two and a half hours with Jerry asking Lisa if she would like to accompany him to his house. It was still early so Lisa accepted. Jerry had a driver...no limo, just a nice expensive car, that drove them to Jerry's house. Once in the living room Lisa was resting on the sofa and Jerry had been sitting in his favorite chair. Drinks had been served by Jerry when they first arrived, but it was time for refills. Jerry asked Lisa if she would mind refilling there drinks...no problem she replied. He was such a gentleman and easy going that she felt at ease with him. When Lisa got to the dry sink to fix them a drink she noticed that the soft drink bottle was empty. Mentioning this to Jerry he stated that he would have to go to the kitchen to get another bottle. As she watched him leave the room she noticed some thing strange....he held on to the wall every now and then as if to make sure he was going in the correct direction. Jerry returned with the new bottle and helped Lisa finish making the drinks. After he got situated in his chair Lisa had to ask him why he had to touch the walls every so often when moving around. "I thought you knew that I was blind!"
