She caught a girl friends wedding bouquet.

Mabel and I, enroute to her eye appointment, where she learned she would have one more surgery in her blind eye.

Mabel began to recite:

"Thank God a man can grow,
He is not bound with earthward days,
to creep along the ground
'though his beginning is poor and low.
Thank God a man can grow."

Mabel was inspired by a teacher in 1936 to quote this poem in  school daily.   She looked forward to the end of the day to go home and repeat the poem to Mama.  When she did, Mama would teach her another one. I'm getting to know more each doctors visit with her.

She  continuiously surprises  me with stories of my past.  Someday I will bombard my story pages especially for her pleasure.  The most selfless human I  know on earth is my sister, Mabel.
