Fixing his eye on something in the distance and aligning the ridge on top of the radiator cap with it, a tree, a post, anything will make the first strike straight. At the end he will go so many yards to the left and do the same sort of alignment coming back in this direction, toward me, I am waiting for Pop to set up the first strike straight and then I will take over the wheel until these assigned parameters of these acres are ploughed. I enjoy ploughing but I hope he doesn't make the patch too big; I get bored. He is coming back now with the squawking gulls bouncing on the turned soil looking for worms.

Success in this exam is related by me to Pop by my quoting the road-tester: "You drive this truck like a trucker." Well, I have been driving in the field since I could sit on a tractor and a truck since I could reach the pedals. I feel lucky to come from a family that has a farm within the city limits. I have the best of both worlds. The market garden farms in this district are occupied by many gardeners of Dutch origins. My grandfather and his brothers started in this urban river valley as pioneers.
The bulk of the collection is eight short stories that are set in yesteryear. The compilation is filled out with four entertaining fantasy pieces and three poems.
My second book is about a boy who has Asperger's Syndrome and is bullied to the point to where he shoots up his school. I have divided the excerpts from it into three parts: Before, during and after the shooting.
