On Tuesday January 20th, 2009 change came to America as Barack Obama was sworn into office as the 44th president of the United States of America. It is the dawn of the new day as the first African American president of United States took the oath of office. As I watched this event these, words came to my mind, “we have done so much with so little for so long, we are now qualified to do anything with nothing”.
Out of the four corners of the world they came to pay homage to the new king. Out of the four elements of fire, air, water, and earth they came to honor the new king. Out of the four stations of the cross, they came to hail the new King.
Change has come to America, and the voice of hope has spoken, saying:
“Arise, dear friend for today is the dawn of the new day, for the wind of hope has come”.
Many mighty men have walked the earth, and have planted seeds of freedom, liberty and justice for all. Such men include Martin Luther King, Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, Ben Franklin, Thomas Jefferson and many others. Today we include among such men Barack Obama, the seed master of hope.
This life that we live, we are each our brother’s keeper, for all depend on one another for the survival of all. Each role is important, each is a hand, a heart, a leg, and a head in the chain of events. No one person’s role is more important than the other, for we form a collective chain of dependencies, sharing and receiving of thoughts and efforts. Each role, shapes the other in an onward progress of the life that we share on this planet earth.
