My short story "Will Fame And Love Return / Wednesday November 1, 2006" is about the news making the rounds that co assistant manager & field manager Bill Falstaf of the Baltimore Clippers was not going to return for the 2007 baseball season and instead leave for the same position with the Philadelphia Diamonds and rebuild the team for the 2nd time, but also the pitfalls in dealing with the baseball commissioners office.

Will Fame And Love Return

When It All Comes Crashing Down

Baltimore, Maryland

Wednesday November 1, 2006

When the news came out that Bill Falstaf was not returning as the manager of the Baltimore Clippers and that it was speculated that he was headed for the Philadelphia Diamonds. It was not really a shocking surprise that this was occurring as a year ago he was ready for the switch but the baseball commissioner stepped in and stopped it from happening, citing that it would create an imbalance in baseball.

It was not a secret that Bill Falstaf was not about to retire. Having left his mark as a player, manager and co assistant general manager, at the age of 59 he wanted to add to his outstanding record for he was bar none and an absolute master of the game of baseball who had no equal and was admired by many of his peers.

It was very well known how Bill Falstaf in his stops in Washington, New York, Philadelphia and Baltimore how he took charge of cellar dwelling teams and turned them into pennant contending championship teams, a manager who instills discipline in his players who turn out out to be excellent pitchers, batters and fielders, turning players who were mediocre or average into league leading stars.

The major obstacle for Bill Falstaf is in dealing with the baseball commissioner Cameron Stanwyck and his son assistant commissioner Herman Stanwyck who had developed a bias for anything about him, especially in decisions regarding the teams that Bill Falstaf has managed, making a point of and often going to extremes.
