The news came out today that Bill Falstaf had agreed to contract terms with team owner Franklin Metscher of the Philadelphia Diamo nds, returning to a team that he previously was co assistant general manager and team field manager for 6 seasons from 1995 to 2000 compiling a record of 541 wins, 431 loses and a .556 winning percentage, including 3 American Conference League pennants and 2 Carrington Cup Championship series titles alongwith former pitchers Stuart Spencer who will be the team senior vice president and general manager who won 418 games and sharing duties with Nate Rudancyk who will be co assistant manager and won 419 games, both of whom came along with Bill Falstaf from the Baltimore Clippers.
Bill Falstaf now has the task of once again rebuilding the Philadelphia Diamonds into a pennant contender and hopefully a championship caliber team. Former team manager Bob Beake will be the bench coach at Bill Falstaf’s request along with a handful of players whom he had managed previously who survived the tragic bus crash. Two star pitchers, Ed Sinclair and Ray Rosselli will head the pitching rotation and versatile Logan Randlett will be utilized as a utility player and pinch hitter.
