No matter what she faces in life, a young girl with serious physical disabilities relies on God to get her through life's toughest battles.
God has been really good to me.

He has allowed me to overcome some of life's greatest battles, and it is because OF him that I am still here, even when doctors didn't give me much hope. I have survived many breathing problems, and I have even stopped breathing more than once due to my allergies or having my heart stop on me. I also have recovered from a stroke three years ago when I was eight, and even though I WAS paralyzed at first on the one side, I have recovered now, and I am nearly back to where I was before I had the stroke. I also live with chronic pain every day because I have juvenile rheumatoid arthritis; but I still thank God that I have been able to overcome my battles and am able to thank Him for all the good things he has done for me. I can walk, and even though I DON'T walk well (or without the aid of braces on my legs or two crutches), I still CAN walk, and even when I am in a wheelchair and can't walk due to the pain, I still can find a way to get around it and get by. Where there's a will, there's always a way! Nothing is going to stop me in getting around, even if they have to CARRY me on a stretcher! LOL

God has allowed me to minister to people in song (I sing country music mainly, but I always sing a gospel song or two and tell people about Jesus Christ and what He has done in my own life), and I have seen people come to Jesus because of my ministering to them. I came to know Jesus myself when I was seven and a half, and at the age of nine, I was baptized with the Holy Spirit; and it has made me a more effective Witness to Him and His Power. He has also given me a talent for writing, and I am presently working on a book about my own life and also telling other kids with disabilities that they can get through their problems if they only learn to rely on God. It's a inspirational/biography/self help type book, if you will, but one for young kids, particularly those with disabilities.

I have found a church that is Spirit-filled, and it really has helped my life. Because of church, I have come to accept God and rely on Him when life hands me lemons, and I also have a better attitude about things. I am nicer to people, and I have learned about what it means to be a Christian and walk the Christian life. No, I am NOT near perfect (the ONLY one who IS died on the Cross for MY sins!), but even with all the mistakes I have made in my life, or feel that nobody cares, I know that God DOES care, and He still loves me, even when I feel unloved or burdened with my problems or with life itself. I have a family who loves me for ME, and they have come to know Jesus too; and now we are nearly a Christian family. Sure, some of my family members aren't saved; but God is working in their lives; and I feel that it won't be long before they make that trip down to the altar to confess their sins and ask God to come into their hearts.

I have been so blessed in so many ways: I am adopted, but I have a family who was willing to take on a child with serious breathing problems (this was before my arthritis stuff; that came later, when I was four-and-a-half; I was adopted at the age of three months), and it is because of them that I learned to love them and love life itself, even when it was anything BUT nice, and I also have learned to accept people of ALL colors or nationalities, and I also learned to be tolerant of people who were disabled, or even people who were NOT. I learned that it is not nice to make fun of others, and I have learned to be compassionate and caring towards other people. I also have learned what rules are to be followed and why we, as an example, aren't allowed to cuss or watch shows that have sex, nudity, or bad language in them, and why we aren't. I have learned that even though my parents may be strict, they are only trying to protect us from a nasty, sin-filled world, and they are instilling in us kids a love of God and a firm foundation.

I also have been blessed with an ability to sing and/or play music, and because of this, I have been able to travel across the south, singing for people. I also have been able to tell them about Jesus, and I have seen people accept Christ because of something I did or said; and that really makes me feel special and worthwhile. That is what I enjoy most about being a Christian: witnessing to other people and telling them about Jesus and why they need Him in their own lives. In addition, I have discovered a gift for writing, and I have been able to share my thoughts and feelings with my family and friends; and now I am in the middle of doing a book, and hopefully, this will become a reality. I would love to write a book that would help other kids with disablities and show them, that no matter what they may face, they CAN overcome their problems! I did! And they can, too! :)

I personally don't know if I could have made it as far as I have without God's help. He has really been faithful to me, and He has NEVER, EVER disappointed me. He has shown me why I go through some of the things I have done, and He has shown me that no matter what battles I may face in my life, He is ALWAYS there, and He will NEVER, EVER leave or abandon me. He loves me too much, and in His Eyes, I am HIS Child, and NOTHING is going to stop Him from loving me. He sees me as "perfect", and I DO know this for a fact: even though I AM disabled now, I AM faced with getting a Healing from God. If I DON'T get it here on Earth, I WILL get it in Heaven: either way, I have a Healing coming to me, and it is a guaranteed PROMISE! And maybe He is using me as a way to get other disabled people to come to God and show them that they can overcome their problems if they only learn to rely on God; I don't know, but I guess this is why I haven't been healed as of yet. But as I said, I DO have a Healing coming to me; it just won't come as soon as I would like it to! LOL
