A family becomes the owners of a rather homely kitten who was burned in a fire.
Think this may be my shortest story yet! This is a TRUE "short story"! LOL
Our kitten, "Mewsie", may not look like much--scrawny, fur burned off in most places, practically bald, and scarred with burns--, but she has given us more in the way of love and has shown us more about courage and life itself than what we are able to learn by ourselves.
Our kitten came to us only a few months back, but she has emerged from a scared, shaking, pathetic creature to a very loving, affectionate, and sweet-natured animal who can melt the heart of the meanest person. Her purrs are loud and rumbling, and she purrs practically nonstop. She came to us from the animal shelter, where she was doomed to die from euthanasia; nobody wanted her because she was so ugly in appearance; but underneath the scarred little body and the plea of hope and longing in her pretty blue eyes, we couldn't help BUT to take the little abandoned kitten to our home.
She's been ours ever since; and she has brought us joy and love. She may not look like your typical kitten, but she sure acts like one; she plays, purrs, eats, meows, and sleeps just like any other cat, and she knows how to wrap her tiny little courageous self around your heart!
We named her "Mewsie" because of her mews. She has such pleasant little cries that are pleasing to our ears, and we have found her to be a very vocal little cat: she will definitely let you know of her presence, and one can't help BUT to be drawn to her when she purrs or acts all adorable when they walk into our house. Our kitten may not be "beautiful" by any means, but her "purrfect" personality and her charming ways far make up for all the physical imperfections that are on the outside; and she has shown that she is really quite a force to be reckoned with!
