Louisiana continues to try to get her emails caught up before she has to go into the hospital in a couple of weeks, where she is to have back surgery.

Dear Sari~
Hai! Miitaa kuuluu? Kiitos hyvaas!
Thank you for the beautiful letter; it was so nice to hear from you again! It sounds like you and Nikolas are doing well; I am doing pretty good, but I still am facing back surgery in a few weeks, and next Wednesday, the 16th, I have bloodwork, hopefully this will show up nothing wrong, or else I won't be able to have the surgery. I am still raising my kids, and I am still working, but I am working less hours now while I am under my doctor's care, and I will then be off work for a while while I heal from my back surgery; but right now, I kinda' like having weekends off and spending more time with my kids and husband.
What a beautiful picture of Aurora Borealis you put on your letter; that was absolutely GORGEOUS! It made me think of Alaska, and how bad I want to go back there! I just loved Alaska, and I would go again in a heartbeat! I did hear from Jenna Aurora Doucet from Anchorage, and also Sikik (NOT Sickie! LOL) Eegeesiak in Barrow; both are well, but Sikik is in mourning; she lost her mother around Christmas time, and she is having a very hard time emotionally. I also wrote to my friend in Texas, Diane, and I still have yet to write to Gretchen in Arizona, Kendra and Louisa in California, and Erin in Idaho. Seems my letter writing is never done! LOL
The dessert you mentioned sounds absolutely yummy, and I have had borscht; I thought it was good, but my husband really didn't care for it. Oh, well...I guess borscht is an acquired taste! Just like crawfish and shrimp are to you; you didn't seem to be too impressed with the crawfish bisque I made you when you came over last summer, but I still appreciated your trying it! At least you didn't get sick on it; I would have been sooo upset! LOL
Here, the weather is sunny, really pretty out, but I am currently sitting in my office at work, doing the last of my patient admits; we had six new admissions to Nashville Memorial, and I was putting them into my computer. But now I am taking a little break from that and am writing to you! I will get back to the charting when I am done; and then I will work until I go to lunch at 11:30; and then I will be on break until 12:30; and then I will work one more hour before I get off for the day. I do plan on getting outside and work in the garden, trying to get rid of the weeds and leaves before planting time comes along. Seems funny, but it is quickly heading towards spring; seems like only yesterday when it was fall, and we were looking forward to winter! How is the weather there in Ivalo? Still cold and/or snowy there?
I will send you a tape of Ronee' 's performance on "America's Most Talented Kids" as soon as it airs, and I will be glad to send it to you free of charge. Don't even worry about sending me money for it! Consider it a gift! She is starting to get a little nervous about it; she leaves for Hollywood several days before I have my surgery; Bill is going with her. She is looking forward to her television taping, but she is also a little nervous (and understandably so). I will also tell you that we don't have a HUMMER; for one thing, HUMMERS are downright expensive: an H2 costs something like $50,000 to START, while an H1 costs a pretty $100,000 to START! I happen to drive a Dodge Caravan; as for my husband, he drives a 2003 Volkswagen Beetle. So we are NOT rich, not by a LONG shot! We ARE well to do, but we are NOT rich; we are NOT millionaires, if that is what you are thinking!
Sari, it was quite a surprise to see you and Nikky in Sri Lanka; but I was so happy to see that you wanted to help! You and Nikky both looked terrific; but then I heard you got sick that evening we saw each other; I am sorry you were so ill; but I am glad you are on the mend! I hope you are feeling much better and stronger by the time you get this email! Please know you have been in my thoughts and prayers!
Speaking of Sri Lanka, remember that little baby boy (Arjun) and that little girl (Rani, the one who was in a coma) that I told you about? Well, I am in the process of adopting both children; Bill and I have already contacted our adoption attourneys, and we have started the necessary paperwork and process in adopting the pair. Arjun continues to do very well, according to Dr. Venkatesh Arjuwal (he is still in Sri Lanka, and he emails me weekly, to let me know how he and others are doing), and Rani is receiving daily physical and occupational therapies. She is out of her coma, but she is showing signs of possible physical and mental disability, so they are working with her. She is progressing steadily, but it will be slow going for a while. We are both looking forward to the news that Arjun and Rani are ours, and we are also looking forward to when the children will finally be ours, and we can then get them and bring them to their forever home here in America!
We got a new baby goat; a man has been trying to sell me a goat, and I finally relented; but I am worried that the critter will try to eat everything in sight; it appears to be chronically hungry, and he bleats constantly, even in the middle of the night; and I am ready to make goat stew out of him if he doesn't quit it! I still really don't know anything about raising a goat, but I will learn as I go along; it will be a "trial-and-error" deal. He is just a kid (LITERALLY! LOL A little goat humor here!), and he is just a little thing. He is all white with spooky-looking blue eyes, and when he looks at me, he gives me the creeps! HE is cute in an ugly, homely sort of way, but it will take a while before I am used to having a billy goat around! (I figure he'd be good for the kids who have allergies or low tolerance to cow's milk, so this was one reason why we eventually ended up getting this goat in the first place!)
Well, Sari, I will let you go; I have to write to Kendra, Louisa, Gretchen, and Erin, so I will write more later on. Thank you for writing; it is always great to hear from you again! Tell Nikky hello, and God bless you both! I will write more probably after I have my surgery and as soon as I am feeling a little better! In the meantime, please continue to keep me in your prayers; I really can use all ther prayers I can possibly get! Love and miss you guys!
