I am trying to get some of my long-lost e-mails answered; this is proving to be a Hurculean task! Yet I am still tyring! LOL
I am happy today: my daughters Tammi and Camey both got a job at Fire Mountain, which is a fairly new buffet style restaurant not far from where we live. It is owned by Ryan's Steakhouse, and it is more upscale, with more choices and is double the size of our Golden Corral, which is our other "waterin' hole".
They had their interviews just last week, and yesterday, Fire Mountain called them to tell them they both got the job! Tammi will be a server, and Camey will be rolling silverware for the servers. The manager of the restaurant wanted to put her in the utility area, but Camey can't handle a lot of activity or she will more seizures than usual. She has epilepsy, and for the most part, her seizures aer controlled, but if stressed out, she will go into a seizure event. So they will have her doing something a lot easier.
I guess Camey and Tammi must have impressed them; otherwise, they'd STILL be waiting to see if they got hired or not! I am so happy for them; two more kids of mine are spreading their wings and will be flying before too long! (WHAAAA!!)
Guess who I heard from today: my friend, Sikik, who lives in Barrow, Alaska! I was thinking about her the other day, wondering how she was doing, and she wrote to me yesterday! I wrote her a letter today before I went to work; I am sure that by tomorrow, there'll be a response from her! She seems to be doing well!
I will have to take my girls Camey and Tammi to work starting next week: they start on Wedsnesday of next week and they will be under a training program for a month. They will then be familiar with their jobs after the training period is overwith. I guess Fire Mountain (and Ryan's Steakhouse) have an extensive training period that is unparalled to most eateries, and they are very big on making sure that customers feel comfortable and see how a successful restaurant can function, even at peak business hours. I am not so worried about Tammi: it's Camey I am worried about, what with her health concerns!
Well, not much is new other than the twins being hired by Fire Mountain and my hearing from Sikik, so I guess I will go for now. There's not much going on at our place; everything appears to be in order, and that is a RARITY at our house! You can count on CHAOS most of the time here, sure and certain! LOL Heck, I THRIVE under pressure; it's where I am at my absolute BEST!
Congratulations Camey and Tammi. Fire Mountain sounds like a nice place to unwind, have a steak and cocktail and spin a few stories around the table. Pass the lost shaker of salt Jimmy Buffet in Margaritaville! Thanks for the journal entry today, Karen Lynn.
Well done! You're doing better on your "ands." Much less distracting. An excellent write with happy news...and possible rest for Louisiana. Nahhhhhh...not with THAT brood! LOL Enjoyed.
We do hope that Loiuisiana gets to enjoy the calm and quiet moment, those are indeed rare for her, a very nice entry!
