Johnny, taking a break from the doom and gloom, writes about something more cheerful, to keep his young mind occupied from worries.

Friday, March 17, 2006, 4:39 a.m., C.S.T. (can't sleep; too excited about tonight---)~

Dear Journal~

Happy Day O' The Irish to you! 'Tis St. Paddy's Day, March 17, don't you know! (Okay, my Irish brogue is bad, but who cares?? *grins*)

This is your friend, Johnny. I am sitting here at the computer, trying to keep my mind occupied. I am still thinking about the tests I had the other day, but there's no sense worrying about something I have absolutely no control over, right?? Anyway, as far as I don't know anything, the better my mood'll be.

I am tired of being depressed; it isn't going to get me anywhere! So let me write instead about St. Patrick's Day. St. Patrick's Day is a day where the Irish people get to eat, drink, and be merry, and celebrate what's good about being Irish. They get to wear green and drink green beer (ick, regular beer is bad enough! Not that I have tried any, but it just sounds nasty!) and eat things like potatoes au gratin (or any kind of potatoes, the Irish are really big on potatoes!), corned beef and cabbage (ick!), and Mulligan's stew. They are celebrating their Irish heritage, but I think there is a lot more to the holiday than that! I think there is some saint named Patrick they are celebrating, and I think it has something to do with religion; I really don't know.

Today at school we are having a St. Paddy's Day party complete with Irish music and dance (I won't be doing any of that; kind of hard to do the Irish step dance or jig in a wheelchair!), and we will probably have green tea and shamrock cookies. Then tonight, after I get home, we are immediately going to downtown Nashville, where there is a huge parade and festival set to happen, and I will hear even more Irish music (and also some Cajun and country, thanks to my bonehead sister, Ronee', who is performing tonight as part of the entertainment line-up) and pig out on more Irish fare. No doubt, everyone will be wearing green, and there will be people acting stupid; it happens every year.

I wish I had better news about my girlfriend in California, but Rebekkah Cohen is still in the hospital, and they still don't know much about her leg or what is going to happen to it. She has had a bad infection in her leg, and there is the possibility of her losing it. I pray and hope not; she is a ballerina, and it would be kind of hard to do those leaps and jumps with just one leg! I will have to pray for her now more than ever!

Poor mom has been a wreck these past few days. She is worried about me (any mother should be worried about her kid when they are having tests!), and then yesterday, Donna in Georgia got mad at her and chewed her out big time. I don't know exactly what happened, but mom was in tears. I hope her mood gets better soon; I hate it when mom is upset or crying! It doesn't do my mood any good, that is for darn sure!

The weather is beautiful here, but by Monday we are due for more rain, more storms. Just as long as they don't go severe, I'll be happy! That stupid weather radio (not to mention, those stupid tornado sirens) are hard on a guy's ears (not to mention, hearing aids--squeal city! *ow*)!

Well, I gotta' get ready for school, try to dig up something green, or I'll be getting pinched. Can't go to school on St. Patrick's Day without weaering something green, or else I'll suffer the consequences--I'll more than likely get pinched! I don't want that, so I'd better find my green Alaska shirt! (It's the greenest thing I have; I am talking serious green here, folks, kelly green!) 'Sides, I look great in green, people have told me. So there you go! :)

I will write in here again soon. Take care!

~Love, your pal, Johnny O'Sandusky (hey, everyone's Irish on St. Paddy's Day! *grins*). :D
